Well worth the 40 min drive from South Baymouth. The menu offers several appetizers, salads, and main dishes (as well as desserts. It doesn’t overwhelm, but instead offers a half-dozen or so options to accommodate most. I had the lamb, which was wonderful, and my...wife was very pleased with a chicken breast stuffed with spinach and a cheese blend. The wine offerings were great too, also not a huge list but a good variety of nice wines. Our visit found fresh island grown strawberries with shortcake as a dessert option...yum! It’s a favorite place for us to venture as a family, and the meals have always been memorable! Give it a try...delicious!More

I had read some amazing reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. They were able to squeeze us in and the waitress was wonderful and funny and she even took our photo. The food was out of this world. Highly recommend it.

The School House is beautiful inside with old antique furniture and decorations. The service is very friendly and personal. We had rack of Lamb which was done to perfection. The bread pudding for desert was fabulous with a touch of Bourbon. You won't be disappointed,...highly recommended. Make a reservation so you won't be disappointed.More

It has often been hard to get a good meal on Manitoulin, but not at the School House. The menu is excellent, with lots of local options. They always have fish, meat, poultry and a vegetarian option. The meals are well cooked and well presented....One of the things that often happens in smaller places is that the chef tries to be too clever and overdo things. This doesn't happen here. The service is friendly and efficient and the place itself is charming with lots of interesting local antiques. Highly recommended.More

We loved the atmosphere, service and the food. The building and decor are very unique. The service was excellent and our server even went out of her way to accommodate one of our drink requests. Highly recommend a visit.

Highly recommended for the excellent food and service in a historic and lovely setting. We celebrated a birthday and everyone enjoyed the delicious entrees, including the whitefish, rack of lamb, Black Angus strip loin and chicken. What a great dinner we had at the School house. Came recommended by our B&B hosts. We both had the whitefish dinner and shared a Cesear salad to start. The dinner serving was huge! Did not expect 3 pieces of fish! They were nicely pan...fried and served with this amazing basil butter. Very yummy. You need a reservation but it was worth it!More

Some friends of mine suggested we go here to help celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and locally sourced. The portion sizes were a little large- had enough for a doggy bag. Location wise, it is tough to beat- just a few minutes...from the local boardwalk and partly nestled in the woods which provides perfect amount of shade. The atmosphere is a blend between cozy yet open (you can hear the conversation at nearby tables). It is kinda like having a meal in a museum like setting.More

My wife had the salmon stuffed with scallops,she loved it and I had the rack of lamb and it is always thought the roof.Service was excellent as usual.

Absolutely loved it !! Will definitely return. Very quaint and excellent food/ service. Don't agree with the $$$$ rating...not that bad.
