Fish and chips were fantastic. However, the service was incredibly slow. There were 4 of us at 4pm so not a peak lunch time, and we didn’t have a complicated order. We waited around 10 mins for them to acknowledge us and take our order...- one staff member was on the phone but there were 3 or 4 others just standing around who could have helped us but didn’t. Once we’d placed our order we then waited around half an hour for the food because of some “problem” they encountered - however other people who had arrived after us were getting their food long before we did. Such a pity as the fish was really exceptional once it eventually came!!More

Once you visit this place, you will return! Great tasting fish! Good portions. Very filling. Friendly and helpful staff. Such a unique spot in Providence Bay on Manitoulin Island. This is a ‘Must eat here’ kind of fish and chip place. I have eaten at...over 50 fish and chip places and this is my favourite!More

I went here twice. The food is great and very convenient next to beach. Short walk over to eat by water. Can’t go wrong!

Dropped by here after a swim at Providence bay. The place is small on the main road but I remember it as having great fish + chips in the past, so we tried it again. I would say the fish was fresh but not as...crispy as it was last time. The onion rings were a big hit. There were lots of people there - always a good sign. From last time when it was great - I would say they are a basic fish + chips place now.More

The chips were hot, the fish tasted mostly like batter. The patio needed to be wiped down a bit.. tables were still wet from rain and some were dirty. Not a place I to which I would return, but not terrible.

My husband and I split the 2 piece whitefish and chips as well as onion rings. Everything was fried well and was delicious! Onion rings were seasoned just right that it didn't need anything else. The batter on the fish was just right, not too...thick. And because the fish was fresh and eaten immediately after being served, it was very good. Best fish and chips we had as we didn't tire of eating it compared to, say, fish and chips at the chain Halibut House. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back if we're in the area again.More

This was our third summer visiting Manitoulin Island but we’d never tried Lake Huron Fish & Chips, despite all the great reviews until now. Lineups are huge and business is brisk so it’s best to call ahead and order well in advance of when you’d...like to eat. Or, like our friends did who stayed nearby, drop by to order, and then come back an hour later to pick up. Having tried it, I can now understand what all the fuss is about! It really is extremely good fish and chips!! The batter is light and flavourful and not at all greasy. The fish tastes great and chips are crispy. They even make their own tartar sauce with little slivers of pickle right in it, and give you the option of normal tartar sauce and a spicy version. Gotta say. Worth the wait. All the great reviews are bang on. If you go to the island, and especially if you’re on the gorgeous Providence Bay beach next to it, you should definitely try it!More

I always loved fish&chips so I was excited to have one here. Beyond expectations, fresh and tasty, very environmentally friendly packed, no unnecessary waste like plastic knives and forks etc. There was a lineup, so we were sure it must be a good place and...it was !More

Lake Huron was recommended by a few people and they did not disappoint. We all had white fish with chips and it was amazing. The fish was not greasy nor did it have a fishy smell. I would also recommend their chicken fingers too. Love...me some tartar sauce and Lake Huron gets 2 thumbs up from me. One of the best fish and chips place we have ever eaten at and we've been to a few places over the years.More

We had heard so many awesome comments about Lake Huron Fish & Chips and were excited to find out for ourselves. Our first experience, however, was disappointing. We waited in line for 20 minutes and when it was finally our turn to place our order,...we were told that they were taking orders for pick up at 7:45 p.m. - and it was only 5:50 p.m.! No apologies by the staff member...just more of a that's the way it is attitude. Also, we had wanted whitefish and it wasn't available. Waiting that long wasn't going to work for us, so we left somewhat annoyed, thinking that it would have been nice if an announcement would have been made to those waiting in line or if there had been a sign indicating the next available pick up time. Some people in line had phoned in their orders and were just waiting to pay. Seems we just happened to pick a very busy time, so we gave it another try a few days later, and the wait was only 20 minutes...much more reasonable and more in line with the wait time we would expect, and this time the person taking our order was super friendly. Our fish and chips were good, although I would have been happier with less batter. Prices were reasonable. Unfortunately due to Covid, their patio wasn't open, but there are picnic tables nearby. We'd go back, but next time we'll call ahead!More

Not only is this the best in town, its the only in town!! They have perfected the ordering during COVID -- one lines up outside and individually approach the ordering window, place your order and are then given a time to pick up there order...-- it was busy when we we there so our wait was about 30 minutes so wandered through the one local shop (worth a visit). We then took our fish to the beach area where there are picnic tables (you cannot eat at the restaurant) and a long boardwalk to "wear off"the great food afterwards. The food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Worth a visit.More

We do not use peanuts on site. You could have a sausage or veggie burger on lettuce if gluten is an issue. Hope that helps!
