The last of 5 meals our group of 38 had together, this was the very best. It was light, bright and fresh and there was plenty of it. I thought the surrounding were beautiful and the staff very professional and friendly on a very busy day. I'm so glad we visited.

We got off to a poor start here... Outside the restaurant a dog was tied up. It was extremely hot and the dog was panting and looked distressed. I suggested to the gentleman who greeted us that this dog might need some water and was told it wasn't up to him - it was the owner's responsibility to see to... More

You surely did get off to a bad start here at Tahbilk and we apologize. The dog’s owners were on the deck in direct line of sight of the dog who did have shade. We gave the dog water and checked in with her owners. We feel we could have communicated with you better about your lunch on the day,... More

Tahbilk Cafe is a great restaurant for lunch. It'overlooks the billabong at Tahbilk. Tahbilk is well known for its historic buildings, including the tower. Not so long ago, it was known as Chateau Tahbilk. The cafe has been in business for around 10 years. It makes best use of fresh local produce. Tahbilk claims to be the oldest family-owned winery... Had lunch here last week and what a lovely setting! Interesting menu, and we chose the smoked almonds - lightly smoked, and the mushroom and parmesan croquettes to share, and both were delicious, particularly the croquettes. We also chose the grilled silverside and the pan-fried haloumi/quinoa vegetarian mains. We thought the serving sizes were generous. Service was quick, in fact... More

Thank you for your review. At Tahbilk Café we promote attentive, friendly and efficient service with 15 minutes between courses, however it sounds like we were a little too keen for you; apologies for that. Rest-assured your feedback has been passed on to our team for future improvements More

Visited on a very rainy Thursday last week. Silverside for me, salmon for wife both excellent meals although very small dishes. Waiter forgot drinks which was surprising because it wasn't busy. Beautiful position but overall a little disappointing. Servings should be bigger.

Tahbilk Winery is well worth a visit if you’re in the area – the grounds are vast and interesting; the cellar door is a marvellous building where friendly and knowledgeable staff help with tasting and buying the wonderful wines they make there; and the café is delightful. I loved the lofty and interestingly shaped café building, and the service was... More
