Within the National Trust housing on the beach and very convenient if you are taking the opportunity to walk on the splendid beach. Small and very cosy and certainly in good weather sitting outside Is excellent with the pub hosting it's own micro brewery. Small menu but the food was of good quality and reasonable price. A very dog friendly... More

Our favourite pub on the coast. There is nothing better after a long walk towards Dunstanburgh than calling at the Ship Inn for a great lunch time snack coupled with one of their own ales. Whatever the weather, always a warm welcome & excellent fast service.

After walking from Beadnell, this was a perfect resting place before walking back. They have an extensive lunchtime menu, using local produce. I chose the crab sandwiches and my friend had the tomato and kale soup; both were very tasty. They have their own brewery next door and sell the beer in the bar. Great place to visit whether you... You can't beat the lunch time snacks, particularly the crab sandwiches. During the day the location is stunning. This was our second visit for dinner and it was disappointing. The menu choices were very limited and 2 of those limited main courses had sold out by 7pm. I understand that it's a small pub and they need to manage waste,... More

After a long walk along the coast, the Ship is always a welcoming treat. We got there just after 12:30pm and easily found a table as there were only a few people in there. Then, 10 minutes later it was heaving, as though the local bus had turned up. Anyway, we chose the Ploughman's lunch and were not disappointed. Good... More

We set from Seahouses and were ready for a break by the time we got to the Ship. We had tried the previous day but the place was heaving, luckily it was quieter this time. Lovely oldie worldy pub selling great beer and lager oh and Guinness! Very friendly and welcoming, we never ate as it was later in the... More

We stopped for lunch and we each had a delicious Ploughman's. They also have a wide selection of ales on draught. The pub is very dog friendly with number of dogs there almost matching the customers!

We visited the ship inn twice on a recent holiday in nearby Embleton. The atmosphere is warm and friendly . we had a most enjoyable lunch , washed down with some lovely beers on our first visit and this tempted us to return for an evening meal, three of us had the vegetarian choice and one the crab salad. All meals were... Parking in a small car park to the north of Embleton, we crossed the golf course and walked along the glorious Embleton bay whilst the tide was out amidst a threatening sky. Our reward was a first visit to the Ship Inn tucked amongst a courtyard of cottages where we enjoyed a coffee, a (locally brewed) pint and some scrumptious... More

Tiny pub, but great quality/ Simple, honest cooking done really well. Home brew is tremendous also, and you can buy the bottles. Must book, but a Must Go To when in Northumberland. Fantastic staff.
