Long awaited additions are now complete and the full title of this establishment is now " Roost Farm Bakery and Vineyard Bistro". Located just off the main highway from Victoria to the Airport and the Vancouver and US Gulf Island ferries, we first found it for a splendid breakfast a month or so ago on our way to the ferry.... a friend recommended this place for their freshly made meals. We ordered soup & Montreal smoked beef sandwich. The sandwich was generously loaded with beef and the soup was very creamy broccoli and cheese. The restaurant has only been open for a short time as this place first started as a bakery. The restaurant is an open floor plan, family... More

Thank you for the great review...our Hot Montreal is top of the list amongst our sandwhiches. Next time you're in, should you be interested, ask your server for a complimentary wine tasting. We have just introduced our 2015 red wine - Little Red Combine. It would be our pleasure to serve you again soon. More

We enjoyed our meal but feel the portion sizes should be greatly reduced. They only had one glass of red wine left, so one of us had to have beer. The meals were delicious and the service was great. We had to ask for water and ice but that was no problem and it came quickly. All in all a... More

Called in with the family for a Birthday Brunch. Food excellent and reasonably priced. The new building was far too noisy but I expect it will be quieter with some baffles or tapestry wall coverings.

We live nearby and waited eagerly to see the new addition to the Roost; three of us were there for lunch on Tuesday and it is very, very average. The food was OK, the décor almost non-existent ( think knotty pine and lots of inexpensive finishings ), the place felt disorganized and under-staffed. We are disappointed to say that we... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We are very mindful of some pending kinks to be ironed out and as a new team, we are working hard every day to make that happen. It is such a huge change for all of our customers AND all of the staff. As a one of our... More

Arrived at YYJ around 7:15 am, and drove the 1.5 km to the Roost for breakfast with husband & 2 teenagers. The new bistro restaurant had opened 2 weeks prior, and it was a bright and sunny room, with good bakery smells. Service was prompt and friendly, the coffee mugs were very large, and the food came at a good... More

I was going to say the Roost is a terrible place to visit - too many wonderful things to have to choose between. My friends and I often stop in to the Roost for something to eat after a meeting at the fire hall up the road. They have always got some delicious soups, sandwiches on their own home made... More

The Roost Farm Bakery is more than just a fine bakery. The kitchen puts out great snacks and small meals, and all this can be paired with a selection of tasty coffees. A staunch hangout for locals, this establishment is expanding to add a winery featuring local grapes. Just a short diversion off the Pat Bay Highway (#17) onto McTavish... More

Description
We are a passionate farm! We create and share locally grown food and wines Situated in the heart of North Saanich's pastoral landscape, the focus is on local food and wine, and sustainability. More than just a bakery/cafe, The Roost roosts on 10 acres of farmland where we grow many items used to produce the food we proudly serve. The wheat grown and milled on-site is used to bake breads fresh daily. The blueberries, sheep, and a unique vineyard, all add to the authentic experience. You'll love coming out to our place! Whether you sit on the porch, get comfy in the secret garden, relax on our "chicken-bus", or laze at a picnic bench looking out over the farm and vineyard, you are sure to enjoy a passionate farm experience!
