I grabbed brunch with a friend a few days ago at the Roost and the place was packed. They have a good menu, the food is delicious and the staff very friendly. Try the meatball sandwich....it is a hit. My only criticism is the tinny acoustics in the recent addition, something quite repairable. And do not forget to pick up... More

We love it here and booked a Friends Valentine's Date for 6. Our reservation was misplaced, and people started arriving with no table booked. The staff made us a table, and by the time half the party had arrived we were seated! We enjoyed a wonderful meal as the food is always attractive and delicious. The restaurant even treated us... It's the first time we had been since they extended. We went for brunch and, although busy, the restaurant was by no means full. Since there were 4 of us, we waited about 15 minutes for a table. We then waited 10 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes for food. Three of our group ordered baked goods that simply needed... More

Busy Sunday lunch spot in farm area. The servings are generous and tasty. Expect to wait for a table. Best tuna sandwich ever! Sunday breakfast has plenty of choices, only served before 11am. Casual atmosphere. If you are in a rush, go elsewhere.

We appreciate your feedback and we thank you. Because of our extensive renovation, yes...there can be a wait for a table during the lunch rush but not always. Sunday mornings are busy due to our peninsula renowned bennies but always room for one more. We hope to see you again soon. More

A hidden gem close to Sidney that is very popular with the locals. Great breakfasts, brunches, and lunches. They bake their own bread and their sandwiches are delicious and very reasonably priced. Can't lose at this place.

Thank you for the great review. Yes, we do bake our own bread with some of our own milled wheat and our sandwiches ARE extremely popular. It would be our pleasure to serve you again in the near future. More

Have visited a few times. Great soup and sandwiches enjoyed on the verandah. Lovely selection of baking to enjoy on the spot or take home to enjoy later

Won't be back for dinner. Diner style presentation. Overcooked 1/2 chicken with overcooked potatoes slathered in heavy gravy. Afraid of what the duck confit would be! Décor unimpressive, needs work. Get rid of those drapes!

Many good treats at the roost plus more kinds of tastey breads than I care to list. The bakery and restaurant are together and so when I drop by after a meeting with my pals we do luncj at the Roost. I usually get a sandwich and soup or a salad. The sandwiches are always thick with fillings. Some of... More

I really liked the new lay out, we had ruled the Roost out as a regular for dinner because it was so cramped previously. The new set up is very nice, the bar looks amazing. The service was very good as well, top not. Our food was good, but a bit bland I gotta say. We had a couple appies,... More

The Roost used to be one of my favourite spots, sadly nolonger! I have visited twice since the new addition. What used to be a charming place to visit has been turned into a disappointing, average restaurant. The service was terrible! The waitresses seat you and then ignore you. Even though the food was good, we were so annoyed by... More

Description
We are a passionate farm! We create and share locally grown food and wines Situated in the heart of North Saanich's pastoral landscape, the focus is on local food and wine, and sustainability. More than just a bakery/cafe, The Roost roosts on 10 acres of farmland where we grow many items used to produce the food we proudly serve. The wheat grown and milled on-site is used to bake breads fresh daily. The blueberries, sheep, and a unique vineyard, all add to the authentic experience. You'll love coming out to our place! Whether you sit on the porch, get comfy in the secret garden, relax on our "chicken-bus", or laze at a picnic bench looking out over the farm and vineyard, you are sure to enjoy a passionate farm experience!
