We have been visiting the spotted cow for many years and have always enjoyed the food and friendly service. Unfortunately the last few visits things seem to have gone down hill. We came in for lunch on Saturday as an early Mother’s Day treat and...More

I am sorry to read your review, and yes, you are right - our menu is a bit shorter. After analysis, it appeared that the pub standards (fish & chips, steaks, sandwiches) way outsell any of the more 'interesting' dishes that I put my heart...More

We visited last night and as always enjoyed a selection of tapas to start and then the scampi, which never disappoints. Looking forward to our next visit already!

A very relaxed and enjoyable meal. Staff very attentive without being pushy. All of our party of five were pleased with our meal choices, and there was plenty to choose from. A particularly nice aspect was that you could ask for a larger or smaller...More

I don't blame you one bit for being upset at the clumsy way our barman handled things when you tried to come for lunch last week. I was furious on your behalf but before I could get to you to sort it out, you had...More

Visited the The Old Spotted Cow last month with my partner, lovely fire going on arrival. Quick service. The food was absolutely fabulous with my partner saying it’s the best Scampi she has ever had.

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, the pub is accessible to wheelchair users - no steps either on the way in, or inside the pub. The front door is a little narrow but, other than the really big motorised wheelchairs, most... More

Thank for asking about our real ales. On Saturday we will have Otter Bitter, Butcombe Gold, and our Halloween guest beer will be Hobgoblin from Wychwood Brewery. We try to buy reasonably locally, although every now and then... More

The Old Spotted Cow is a pretty village pub on the outskirts of Marston Meysey, the northern-most village in Wiltshire. We have records of it as a pub as early as 1841, when the first census was taken, and it still retains many of the old features befitting of a Costwold pub: open fires, low beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls... Set amist pretty gardens, with views of open fields and plenty of off road parking, the Old Spotted Cow makes a charming retreat from the hurly burly of modern life. We strive to keep our menu fresh and seasonal, striking a balance between much loved pub classics and some more diverse dishes that reflect the landlady/head chef's many travels. Booking is recommended as we can get busy.
