Came to this restaurant on a Saturday night, around 7pm. Staff were very friendly and professional. My wife had the string hoppers, and I had the pork black smores. Both were amazingly delicious, with a spicy heat that really sneaks up on you after a...More

First ever visit to Banana Leaf and I was not disappointed. They were very busy but the food was prompt. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the manager was incredibly hospitable. Both meals were excellent and of generous proportions. I will definitely be back.

The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We chose a range of traditional Sri Lankan and modern cuisine. Each was beautifully presented and flavourful. Desert of chocolate mouse, Love Cake and Mango Melba were a perfect finish.

Dear Guest, With regulars like you this place kept a float during the financial crisis etc. Ours is one of the only restaurants that survived hard times. With no paid advertisements of the restaurant to date, surviving only on word of mouth advertising, we have...More

I dined at Banana Leaf on a Tuesday night. It was half full of Canberran business/government men. I overheard the conversation at the table near me - they were clearly regulars and clearly devotees. I ordered the Sri Lankan style rice and curry. It was...More

The menu is varied in choice of genuine Sri Lankan curry types as well as in the type of meat, and also includes quite a selection of vegetarian curries. The spiciness varies, but is generally spicy without being overly so. The staff were friendly and...More

We shared a curry plate with different curries and condiments and rice. Extra sides of fish curry and rotti with lentil dip rounded out a delicious meal. My daughter is a rotti connoisseur and she rated it very highly. The staff were attentive and friendly....More

From the first bite into pan roll, I was spirited back to mum's and my grandmothers home cooked meals. The curries were to die for, so strong in their flavours and spice. The rice, lentils and vegetables curry were the perfect accompaniment. The menu has...More

Can we make a booking for lunch on October the 19th.? I use a power wheelchair, we would plan to be there early so we don't inconvenience other guests, but ideally we would prefer a table nearerbthe front door. Could you please let me know? My mobile phone number is 0412381000. Looking forward to hearing back from you, Stewart MacLennan ,
