My partner and I ordered a seafood combination meal for two. Given the restaurant’s location in the Sydney Fish Market we expected the seafood to be fresh and hopefully delicious. Unfortunately there was nothing in our meal or the service that would encourage us to...return. The scallops were dry, rubbery and tasteless. The prawns were chewy in a very bad way... I guess seeing the staff eating the seafood behind the counter, in between serving customers, may have been reassuring. Unfortunately, it only caused us to doubt hygiene standard as one wait staff put down her piece of calamari and without any attempt to clean her hands, proceeded to calculate our bill and receive our payment ... umm never again.More

There used to be a Greek restaurant here, now it's Chinese. The food and service were OK, but they just didn't fit my taste.

We ordered from their menu a selected ‘deal’ they tell us after ordering $70 worth of food that they have run out of most of the food we just paid for. We basically spent $70 on 3 plates of chips with random pieces of deep...fried fish on them. We should of received, oyster mornay, prawn cutlets, squid, calarmari etc Absolutely disgusting and service is terribleMore

Stay Away from this place !!!!! So we decide to try this place as the main food hall was packed as we got there late. We should have know from our multiple visits to the Sydney Fish Market over the years with this place being...often quiet that there is a reason for it and its the fact the food is dreadful and overpriced. The only people you will find are the groups from the tour buss that get told to go there by the guide. Needless to say very very very disappointing. Very slow to get food to the table - 30 - 45 Minutes Food comes out at different times, and they forgot the salad and lobster and needed to be followed up. We got two $78 platters and lobster was not fresh it was a frozen lobster reheated , I know 100% for sure of this as i have eaten both and there is a marketable difference in flavorful and texture. Prawns were over cooked and tasteless. Oysters were shocking - tasteless and over grilled Do you self a flavorful and do not go there. To the management, there is no excuse for the type of service and quality of food at the prices you charge is is a disgrace to the Sydney Fish Market.More

I’ve eaten here regularly but, as it turns out, not often enough to keep up with the changes. Its target market is now large groups of Chinese, and the round tables with the usual stack of Chinese crockery in the middle gives it away. Tables...are not obviously identified as for larger or smaller groups and we were somewhat peremptorily re-seated at a table not much smaller than the one we were told to vacate. Large serves of good seafood doesn’t make up for the less than welcoming ambienceMore

The smallest Mudcrab is more than enough to fill one person. I came in there and all the staff treated me like royalty. The mud crab was cooked to perfection (The spices were all the right ratio nothing overpowered each other), the waiters and waitress...were all very helpful especially since it was my first time eating crabs of any kind. I will definitely be back again and I will suggest it to my friends. PS: They even gave me a free can of coke. I don't usually tip but these guys really deserved it.More

If there was a 0 star I would put 0. Most disgusting seafood you will ever eat. So expensive so terrible food. Made us pay an extra $15 just to cook the scampi, while we had already started eating. The most terrible service. Will never...be back here again save your money for a proper seafood restaurant!More

Located at the Sydney Fish Markets, the Sea Emperor has recently opened. We were there with a large party (3 tables) to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing! Crab, abalone, langoustines, salmon sashimi - so fresh! We also had stir fried beef with broccoli....Enjoyable experience, recommend for small and larger groups. It is a more casual setting but suits the area. Would recommend booking for any special function. Parking is available as this is at the fish markets. Fees may apply and it could get busy given the shared business community. Can't wait to go back to try the lobster - I hear it is mouthwatering and oh so fresh.More
