I would have rated this a five but it was sooo hot the night we were there that we couldn't stay for dessert. We had a reservation for two and were seated in the balcony area -- but it looked like there were plenty of spots on the restaurant floor. The staff for the balcony area seemed to be in... More

We recently dined at this signature restaurant of chef Neil Perry in Sydney. The understated renovation of a former bank was an idyllic dining space with the dark flooring and mid-gray tones accenting the white walls and ceiling. A very elegant and relaxed and quiet space. The service was paced to our needs with helpful explanations of their beef and... More

Great location in Art Deco surrounds. Big, buzzy and a touch brazen. Bit like Sydney itself. Food fresh, but surprisingly simple and, well, a tad underwhelming on the plate and on the palate. Good wine list and expert sommelier. Service, a little slow but pleasant and efficient. There are finer restaurants in this burg, but few offer the sensory overload... More

Rockpool is one of my favourite restaurants. Entree list is very expensive and diverse, both hot and cold entrees. I always go for a seafood entree and the quality is fantastic. Steaks for main are a must. Always cooked perfection to your preferred asking. Wine list is like a small phone book, so much to choose from from all regions.... More

My favourite Restaurant in Sydney. Its a huge menu, if its your first visit its best to familiarise yourself with it online first. After a few visits you'll know your favourites.

This was our 3rd visit to Rockpool and it has been absolute dining perfection every single time! My husband always has the steak and it is simply incredible! This time I had the pasta and it was definitely the best pasta I'd ever eaten! The desserts are always incredible and the petit fours are not to be missed! The sommelier... More

Went for an early dinner with a Friend . We ordered 2 Wagyu burgers well done, 1 shoestring fries, 2 cokes and 1 Passion fruit pavlova. Burger was excellent - very good quality meat. Loved the pavlova - perfect texture, nice cream, crispy thin/not too thick meringue and lovely passion fruit sauce/flavouring to complement the meringue. Recommend highly. Classy place... More

My son and I are on a quest to find the best burger and we both agree that so far this one tops the charts. We only ate at the bar, not the restaurant proper but that was what we were after and it was perfection. We also shared a hot dog which would have been great except that the... More

With 15 mouths (ages 12-74) that ingest but 16 opinions that come out of them, its hard to please this krew but Rockpool did it & in no small part because of James our head waiter! The amazing service started on the phone to accommodate such a big group and dinner on January 1st to boot! Now I'm no foodie... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
