Ate upstairs. Nice food, but service was way off. Shouldn't need to request service at every step of the meal at a restaurant $200+ for 2 people.

The steaks were VERY good especially the rib on the bone done in their broiler. The place is busy and so can feel a bit like a production line with a high table turnover. The room at first glance appears quite classy all exposed concrete with wood panelling but the size and business sort of deflates that impression. This isn't... More

We have been here a few times now and we fell in love with this steakhouse. I love starting with a dry vodka martini, with their fabulous spicy pickled onion – it will set the tone for your meal! One time, we had our pre-dinner drink at the bar, and had a wonderful ‘Cheers’-like experience with our bartender. If a... More

Please excuse the pun for a title but it was just too apt. The chophouse is situated on Bligh St in the City, down towards Circular Quay. This carniverous dream is surrounded by some pretty serious competition, but holds its own offering excellent service and quality meal choices. This is an upmarket grill is set up in a building that... More

First time at the Chophouse. We ordered the Charcuterie share plate to start which was excellent. Steak and double double lamb chops to follow. Also lovely. Our waitress was so helpful and kind. After learning we were on our first weekend away in seven years, she gave us complimentary desert and coffee. We will definitely be back!

Had the Aged Delmonico Steak & the Wagyu (both med rare) w/ cauliflower mashed puree and green peas & ricotta as side dishes. The food was outstanding; location is easy to find (near the Westfield shopping area). 1 less star for Wait staff was a bit slow and disappeared after serving our dishes; not as friendly or welcoming. For the... More

Everything was fantastic at this place. Prompt service and not invasive. And the food was fantastic. Started with the Oysters and they were beautiful and fresh (Unlike a previous place we went to on Darling Harbour). And for mains had one of their Wagyu Steaks. Absolutely incredible and pretty reasonably priced for what you get.

Visited mid-week with business colleagues, roughly 3 years after my last Chophouse meal. Still very good all-round - ambiance, service, food quality, and value. I selected 1/2 doz oysters natural to start - very fresh and tasty. My main meal was the rib on the bone, which was a great piece of steak and cooked perfectly with just the right... More

Came here on a Friday evening for 'Date night'. This place was chosen by my boyfriend as I'm partial to a steak. The decor inside was lovely, dark woods, leather and lovely lighting make this a very cosy venue to look at but the ambiance wasn't quite right. The service was ok, but on the slow side and a little... More

Description
Chophouse is located at 25 Bligh St Sydney. Designed as a tribute to the old New York steakhouse, Chophouse references a bygone era. Inspired by the industrial & perhaps even a subtle nod to the rawness of the abattoir, the building’s original substructure has been unearthed. |Elements have been stripped back to their raw, primitive nature while maintaining a certain edge & sex appeal. Chophouse is a culinary and visual experience....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
