The cauliflower tasted so good my partner and I were thinking of ordering a second one. We were fully satisfied with our food and drinks. The service was friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant was great. Happy to come back soon!

We loved our vodka afternoon tea at the Food Society. The food was outstanding - imagine regular high tea fare with a twist, and everything being very very delicious. The drinks were also great. Given Sydney prices, the value for money is decent. I only have two minor suggestions for improvement - Perhaps allow a little more time to pass... More

This was my second visit to the Food Society and it won't be my last. The atmosphere of the place is friendly and laid back. Plenty of room so you don't feel squashed in and the staff are extremely helpful when it comes to choosing food. Serving portions can be quite large so don't hesitate asking if it would be... More

A group of us stumbled across this restaurant this evening. Seriously the best schnitzel I have ever had and the local beer was great. We will be back

Booked this place thinking that we could order some "food" from a place called the"Food" Society! We booked in for a lunch but was told that only the high tea was available. When we decided to see what that was like, we chose the non alcoholic option and was immediately greeted by grunts and looks out of the corner of... More

Relaxed surrounds that feel like home away from way. Service is friendly and professional and the food is a fabulous mix of Eastern European fare. Some dishes are very traditional and others modern surprises but all are really delicious. This is a great place to say goodbye to pretentiousness and just relax and have a fantastic warm night with friends... More

It was a great experience. ordered the shared plates for $55 and was very filling. The vodka drinks were delicious as well - a bit on the more expensive side. Overall great experience. The staff weren't very friendly.

Visited Food Society yesterday for a celebration dinner and we would definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone. It would be a miss not to visit this fantastic dining experience when you live in Sydney or are visiting Sydney. Ambiance is great and cozy and staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
