The food here is outstanding. The restaurant is downstairs fron the Harbour rocks hotel, Harrington Street and is in a building that was the first hospital in Sydney. I ate the Burramundi and my husband took the steak. The food is clearly individually cooked to order, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

Scarlett is the in-house restaurant of Harbour Rocks Hotel. The restaurant opens from 5.30pm for dinner, which is great for pre-show dining if you are going to the Sydney Opera House for a performance. The trois morceaux de porc was superb. The size of the pork belly was decent for a meal.

Great value, great food. What more do you need for breakfast? Perhaps it doesn't have great views but the staff were charming and the breakfast we had eaten in the area.

At first we couldn't find it, it is easily missed. It's situated in a historical building. We had a great dinner for a reasonable price. The chef, who appears to work alone, is an artist.

Nice little resto in Rocks. Innovative cuisine, well prepared. For instance french fries with cheddar and truffles or kimchi rice. Very nice and friendly staff. Well equipped wine list with local specialities. We will be back!

We enjoyed our meal hear so much that we returned a second night and had breakfast here (and maybe shouldn't have as the first night was such a delight). On our first visit we were impressed with the warmth, professionalism and passion of our waitress. Cassandra shared her enthusiasm for the menu and gave us good advice on what to... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
