A relaxed early Sunday evening dinner for two was booked on short notice, and this venue did not disappoint. The entrees were prepared very well, if fairly simply, from very fresh and high quality produce and portions were very generous. Chilli squid was cooked well and without unnecessary adornment, but the tea-smoked duck salad was our pick of the night!... More

The prices were a bit of a shock for Asian but when the food came we were very happy. Also a very thoughtful wine list and excellent service and decor. Will return.

Went there on a Tuesday night and it was nearly full. At the end of my meal I understood why. Best rice paper rolls I've ever had, never seen anything that well put together. For mains we had the prawn and duck dishes, these were just lusciously succulent. The service was prompt but not too fussy, just the way I... More

On arrival we were greeted by Lorraine who made us feel quite special, she remembered that it was my husbands birthday and had managed to arrange an inside table for us. Ambiance is fantastic, staff are super friendly and the food is fabulous. We had the banquet which gave us the opportunity to try dishes we might not have picked... More

We went for the Hanoi Hunger, being our first time here and the servings were more than enough to satisfy any hunger. The only change that we made was that we substituted the tea smoked duck salad for the salt and pepper deep fried squid as my partner is averse to molluscs and crustaceans, and a very good swap that... This was the second time to Red Lantern and again, we were not disappointed. The food was impeccable and the service first class. You just can’t fault this place. We had a group of 4 for the 6.30pm sitting and while we had to be out by 8.30, we easily consumed the Tasting Plate and Desert within the time. An... More

After reading the mainly highly recommended reviews decided to try this restaurant at the last minute and used the online booking system. They run 2 sittings we ate early at around 6.30, I think they expect you to vacate around 8.30pm to allow for another service, so if you would prefer to relax more with a larger group book the... Chose this place as it had lots of good reviews, and now I can definitely agree with them. My partner and I were lucky to get a table without a reservation on a Friday night as it got very busy. Staff were very friendly and attentive, even when we kept dropping our chopsticks! We chose the 8 course set menu... More

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Red Lantern last Saturday night We all went with the $75 Hanoi Hunger Tasting menu which consisted of eight scrumptious courses. The service was fantastic as was the general ambience.
