This place is right on Manly Beach and has outdoor dining with beach views. Service was quick and friendly and the dish and chips were hot and crispy. You can dine in or order take away. Prices were a bit high but that may be the norm here.

We popped in for quick fish and chips. The place looked slightly downtrodden but I have to say that the Hoki and Chips in a basket were excellent!

Very casual restaurant across the beach. Service is nice and menu was basic but acceptable. food was quick and nice. Overpriced for the casual nature but it is licensed so might explain the value

Busy restaurant overlooking Manly Beach. Quick service, cold food which appears to be pre cooked then put in microwave to warm through. Not recommended

Called in yesterday for lunch and had battered Hoki and chips. It was so good; really enjoyed it. We had to ask a couple of times for water, but otherwise no problems.

I went to Fish Shack for a quick fish & chips; they had this on special $14.90, after I ordered they told me Sunday table charge will apply, which was fine with me; then food came where one of the fillet wasn't cooked properly & some mushy chips too... well I'm not coming back ....

Grabbed some fish, calamari and of course chips on a sunny Saturday and was not disappointed. The place has tables to eat in, or takeaway. Plenty of tables in the park over the road so we took the takeaway option as the eat-in tables were a bit crowded. Pretty fast service for a Saturday in summer, and was very delicious.

We called here on the off chance, it had been raining in Manly all evening and we had plenty of wine and just wanted a snack. The Hake was to die for! Perfectly cooked! My family used to own a fish bar so I know what cooked fish should taste like and this was bloody amazing - well done xx

We had several fish and chips and at several locations in Sydney and Perth. Quality and taste of fish was poor. My wife did not eat her 2nd piece as it had an odd taste. Service was fair at most. Brought us our water when we asked for check

Had Grilled Snapper and chips which was well cooked and presented - had to order additional sides, some of which were out of stock on a Sunday afternoon? Wine was expensive. A typical tourist joint that charges a premium for what you get, but a great location if you sit outside and watch the passing parade of people.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
