Visited Lorraine's Pattisserie in March, 2018. It's located near Martin Place in downtown, Sydney. There are a few restaurants nearby. If you are in the area for lunch, you should take a look. They make all the sweets in the bakery and you can watch...More

We ate at a nearby restaurant but chose to take home a pastry from here instead of dessert. Rhubarb pies were exceptional, no sour taste to the rhubarb and lovely pastry.

Is this the best Patisserie in Sydney? Yes! Dropped in today, when the queue had subsided and bought a delightful, Rhubarb Pie, consisting buttery pastry, rhubarb compote and Demerara sugar. I chose this pie as it looked so delicious. And because there was a large...More

I am eating the Strawberry Mascarpone as I write this. It is divine. Way more than those 2 words can describe. And as for that cheesecake - the lightest I have ever had in my life. This location is such a find.

The pastry chef in question is the iconic Lorraine Godsmark. You can see her there in the shop creating wondrous treats. If you get a chance to try the date tart or the strawberry coconut mascarpone cake then DO SO!

This choux puff was filled with light fluffy cream and a heavenly center of blackberry and blueberry jam. The jam was not sweet at all. This was quite large too, luckily i shared it with a friend. I was definitely berried in heaven.

Everything is tasty here, I always go back when I want a treat! It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The cheesecake is incredible as well.

I have been to Lorraine's Patisserie a few times, the shop front delightfully presents all its temptations in a very deceptively simple and enticing way. There is usually always a line, and Lorraine's does precede by their reputation. Yet despite the hype, and no doubt...More

I bought the chocolate mousse cake for my sisters birthday and it was amazing! The best cake I've ever tasted in Australia so far.

This chef used to work at Rockpool. Her passion for all things sweet is evident. I have been buying my dessert for dinner parties here for years, Do yourself a favour and get down there.

The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with

shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit

Description
The intimate retail patisserie shop located on the corner of Palings Lane within ivy features an open pastry kitchen where Lorraine Godsmark and her small team of chefs bake throughout the day creating a range of delectable tarts, cakes, pastries, and slices available for take away. The deliciously decadent aroma of freshly baked lemon meringue, raspberry pecan cake and banana bread wafting through Palings Lane and into Ash Street is near impossible to resist.
