Had a very nice meal with friends. Good brews, friendly staff. Fish n chips meal pretty average but the Prawns were excellent. Interesting pubhouse environment but was very noisy and difficult to carry on conversations between 6 of us at same table.... Bit pricey for items.

The various Belgian beers are served in very interesting glasses. The service is excellent and the environment is very relaxing. Whilst I didn't try their food, it seems that the mussels are very popular.

Locat3s in am ancient school building the owners did a great job to transform it in a lovely Belgian restaurant. Service was very very good. You can watch sports also. Very cosy.

When I come home I always suggest to come back here with my family. I love that it's close to all the Sydney sights without it being right in the chaos. The Mussels are just perfect and easy to inhale. The waiters are always courteous, even though they were understaffed during our last visit. And the chips, just go down... More

I have never had a bad feed at this pub and when you mix the beers with the mussels you cannot go wrong. The service is quick and great for the kids who always wait impatiently for there food. A good choice when in the rocks.

My husband and I have just returned from this restaurant. As usual we had the mussels and they were excellent. Living in the country we don't have access to so much fresh sea food so when in Sydney always visit this restaurant, plus the fact it was my school' hall! (Many years ago!). I certainly recommend the mussels. Also the... More

Six of us had lunch there yesterday. We ordered beers and some white wine - be warned that the white wine list is limited, as this place specialises in beer, and an average Sav Blanc or Pinot Grigio will set you back at least $48. We ordered a couple of entrees to share...The "escargot" style mussels were fabulous, the calamari... More

The varieties/selections of beer available are like a kid in a lolly store! The mussels are a must on Wednesdays, at only $20 a pot! Go for the traditional or lobster flavor and if you are adventurous, the blue cheese! the fries are good too.

Came here with friends on a relatively quiet night, when service was slow. Just as well, as there weren't many wait staff on. There's a good range of both beer and wine, and the food was enjoyable, even if on the expensive side (but the location doesn't help here). Our salmon was cooked very well.

Thank Kathryn W

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
