On our visit to Sydney we enjoyed this. Coming from somewhere where we don't have sushi train we loved it. I have had this type of food on many occasions on my travels but my sister hadn't. She thought it was wonderful. The food was fresh with plenty of variety and seemed to attract a lot of repeat business. We... More

Bring your wallet but not your appetite otherwise you might need an appointment with your bank manager. I have noticed that some off the cheaper plates can be limited at times on the train. That said, the food is great, fresh, clean and the service always comes with a smile.

We used to love coming for lunches. Good choices, reasonable price. Last time we visited was in April 2017, the lunch menu has changed and got more expensive. The beef was tough and extremely salty. I had to leave half uneaten. Same for dinner, quite disappointed. I would bring the money and eat at closeby Tokio Fans (Norwest) for the... More

CANNOT BELIEVE IT. VERY BAD ATTITUTE. Usually good service at Makoto so brought business partner there. Extra person coming, waiter refused to pre-arrange. When that extra person arrived, waiter refused to arrange extra seat. Not that seat was not available, we even pointed out we could move. Waiter said no, without reason, and absolutely rude about it. At that time... More

It's Makoto - one of the best places in Sydney to grab a sushi whether it's for a quick indulgent solo bite or a casual meal with friends. Only complaint is staff usually give you sushi off the belt instead of making a fresh one and it's a wee bit pricier than other joints.

We had the most tasty sushi here: scamps, sushi, fish soup, all delicious and fresh.Prices are ok: 3-7$ per 2 sushis. The also serve fine green tea based deserts.

Had lunch twice on our visit to Sydney. Remember eating here years ago. The sashimi is great quality and fresh. Good variety going around so we didn't need to order from the menu.

It's hard to get in, with queues throughout the lunch period, then it shut at 2:30 and I decided to go shortly after it reopened at 5:30. The train perhaps doesn't have enough variety but it does have interesting things like abalone and lobster along with good quality salmon and tuna. The gyoza doesn't stay fresh for long and isn't... Really good sushi, service is very polite and friendly, food is very fresh and delicious and that means good value. It's obviously a good restaurant as whenever we go there the place is always packed. Hard to find a better sushi restaurant.
