A very handy location on the edge of Sydney's CBD and a few metres fro Circular Quay. Therefore an excellent rendezvous point for Sydney-siders coming together from either North or South bound railways and ferries as well. Also, it is far enough away from the Quay itself not to be running tourist menus and prices. The food was first class... More

Laid back place that was practically empty on a Sunday evening. But good food and nice service. Had the sampler of appetizers (good curry puff and excellent vegetarian roll) and then the Malaysian garlic/chili Lamb. Very tasty. Decent wine by the glass and good quality steamed rice. Not cheap but good portions and large menu.

We first discovered Neptune Palace whilst staying at the nearby Marriott Hotel some 10 years ago. Since then we always visit when in Sydney. Its not easy to find as although on a main street you have to go up an escalator to find it and then once inside up another flight of stairs to find the main restaurant. It... More

We walked in without a booking, fairly early in the evening, and got a lovely table for 2 by a window. The staff were happy to let us chat and didn't pressure us to order - even though it was getting busier. Our meals, chicken for me and prawns for my friend, were both delicious. The wine list is extensive... More

Great location at the Circular Quay, the food and selection is very good, on this basis I would recommend this restaurant. However we did find the portion size for the price to be expensive for example loved the chicken satays for entree but for 2 satays that was $10.00! They really need to update their decor as it is dated... More

Finding a quality restaurant like this right at Circular Quay without all the noise and crowds of the Quay is pure delight. The ethos is calm and ideal for taking time to enjoy the wide range of well presented dishes with very attentive service. I find it hard to go past the range of seafood dishes. Will be a regular... Felt extremely lucky to be able to book for New Years night at such short notice.Service was friendly and professional. Dishes were very satisfactory. The prawns were undoubtedly the stand out dish! Huge and fresh and a very generous portion.Decor was pretty basic and maybe not the place to go for celebrating special events, but if you are after a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
