My first time in Australia, my hotel was just around the corner on Harrington street, after a long flight I just needed to unwind, eat something and have a wine. This place was perfect, authentic, friendly staff, and fabulous pizza and pasta menu. I wish I had taken a photo to share. The Bresala salad was also amazing, huge, enough... More

This is a cosy Italian restaurant, the tables are very close together and there are also some table on the street. Food is Ok but service pretty poor. We ordered garlic bread as a starter to share but this turned up after our pasta, we said not to bother but they said they wouldn't charge, which they didn't. Food was... More

My husband & I ventured to this restaurant as we wanted something low key... the service was definitely low key. We ordered a starter then ordered a side to come with our mains, we were clear about this to our waiter who took our order whilst looking like he'd rather be anywhere else... shortly afterwards our side turned up &... Should have looked at Tripadvisor first! Not one person was interested in serving us! Not one smile from anyone. No conversation at all Food was ok We had to pay downstairs and squeeze into a tiny space to do so- ridiculous- terrible experience!

A great convenient location in the Rocks. Outstanding service and ambience to match. The salad and garlic bread was wonderful. The spaghetti bolognese had a different though not offensive flavor, but the house red wine was not good. For all the great inexpensive Australian wines how they chose this one is a mystery. We liked the place, location, vibe and... More

My husband and I ate there last night and it was not only the worst food we had ever had but also the worst service. Obviously they are unconcerned with repeat business and are only looking at the tourist trade. I have never had lasagna without cheese before, it was actually just sheets of pastry with some kind of mince... More

They are supposed to be a pizzeria and make pizzas and other italian food. I tried one pizza : nothing i ever taste before : the real pizza is tasty and the cheese is just melted on the pizza. In this restaurant , the cheese is strongly grilled (almost burned) and the taste is very far away from the original... More

So when I came across Zia Pina I was delgihted to find nice good served promptly and reasonable price (for sydney). From pizza to pasta the range and flavours a... More

We have been going to Zia Pina for over 20 years when in Sydney and are pleased to see that the standards are maintained . The food is good , the service efficient and the ambience is great. This is a bit of a Sydney institution and really has not changed much apart from a few new items on the... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
