Don't let the queue put you off. Once you have a table it's only short, and worth the while wait. Delicious !

Saw the reviews, lived the queue and then experienced the amazing food. We had two servings of the original roti (fantastic bread with two dipping curries), the satay sticks (OMG YUM!) and the banana dessert roti to top it off. Next time will have to feature one of the curries or rice dishes - or if the stomach has space,... More

Amazing authentic Malaysian food! Went as a family and we couldn't get enough! The roti is a must and I would recommend the satay as well as one of the dessert roti options. Simple but lovely

This place is the best Malaysian restaurant in Sydney hands down! Roti is amazing, but the satay skewers takes it up another level. Now I understand why the constant lineup and non-stop people coming in. Highly recommended..

Came here with another couple. Had heard the lines can be long, but we got there on a Thursday night around 6 pm and only lined up for around 10 minutes. We ordered a few rotis, a couple of curries and some of their fried chicken. Everything was delicious and the highlight was the fish curry and lamb curry. There's... More

I've been to Malaysia and the food here was amazing! They had versions of roti that I hadnt even heard of. The fried chicken was amazing. Not too spicy, crispy and juicy. Nasi lamak reminded me of all the times I ate it in Malaysia. Reasonable prices, just you'll have to wait cause this spot is popular.

I went here at around 2:30 pm so there weren't any lines. Great place to try some inexpensive but delicious Malaysian food!

Mamak's flavours are on the mark. The miegoreng is my favourite and their desserts too. The service is quick and efficient. And they will manage to fit you in if you have a stroller. I haven't had a bad experience so far despite the business of this place. I do recommend lining up before they open as they fill up... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
