The Boathouse at Blackwattle Bay has a lovely ambienece in a beautiful location. The meals however are very overpriced. I would have expected that the snapper pie be served as a single individual portion. Not so. What we got was a piece of pie you would...More

After 4 years overseas we were looking forward to the Boathouse: what a disappointment! We were Seated next to the kitchen despite an advance reservation. The service was appalling where the servers forgot to call part of our order. The food was bland and overpriced...More

We had dined here a number of years ago to celebrate a friend's birthday & we always remembered it favourably so I wanted to return for my birthday. It has a lovely outlook over my favourite Sydney bridge but there my excitement ends. The menu...More

Visited for Sunday lunch with family. Very busy restaurant which affected the service slightly but the food quality was good, particularly the huge snapper pie. Desserts proved a little bland but overall we enjoyed our meal. Great view over the water to the city.

Went for a Saturday lunch to celebrate four family birthdays. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely no matter the course chosen. Service was first class and the views from the restaurant add to the experience. Not cheap but highly recommended.

To celebrate a special occasion, we returned to The Boathouse last Friday. It hadn’t changed and we were delighted with the views back to the city and across the water. The restaurant was light filled and we could enjoy the best of Sydney. The menu...More

The food was amazing with Fish dishes of high distinction. The setting is picturesque with the backdrop of the city. Not cheap but worth every penny

Special because we were catching up with good friends after a long time and the restaurant was part of the enjoyment. A beautiful setting by the water with a balanced menu, attentive staff and interesting wine list. Varied clientele, romantic couples, friends and larger groups....More

Friday lunch for four. Peaceful location out of the city bustle. Window table with a great view. Wonderful dishes and wine. Unobtrusive but attentive service. Snapper pie was amazing. Top spot, thanks Boathouse team.

It's a nice place but I didn't find it pretentious. You would be equally comfortable and at ease in suit and tie or nice jeans. Personally I went in suit with no tie.
