If you want a little flavour of Paris then this restaurant is for you. 'Le Menu' is a typical selection of gallic brasserie fair, ranging from hearty French Onion soup, to Escargots (snails), and steak-aux-frites to confit of duck. A choice of eating in or 'al-fresco' adds to the gallic charm and the staff excude a welcoming service. The menu... More

Was here last week for a business dinner with a client and we had a table of 10. It was a Tuesday evening do fairly quiet. The food was good and very traditional. I had the steak tartare and it was lovely. Service was good and the wine selection quite broad. Overall nothing to complain about and we had a... More

La brasserie has been one of our favourite French restaurants for many years. I took my wife there tonight, one as I have been away for a month and two, to celebrate Bastille Day. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing and I don't think we'll be back. The service, which is normally impeccable, was very poor. There was a table next... More

La Brasserie has been one of my favourite restaurants for the last 5 years In sydney. If you are looking for great atmosphere, food and service this is the place to visit. Highly recommend the cheese soufflé, snails and the scotch fillet with truffle sauce. Thanks

The filet de boeuf is so tender, the white wine, red wine and cognac are excellent. I spent a good time with friends.

I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. Food is great, service is great and I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I have had there. I have taken guests that are hard to please there, and they have left happy. Took my mum there for her birthday in December and I'm heading back this weekend for my Dad's birthday, because... More

Had an amazing dinner with my girlfriend for her birthday. We started off with a lovely bottle of French Malbec (which is so hard to find!), some very fresh oysters, esgargot, cheese and a charcuterie plate. All the food was amazing and we were unable to finish everything due to very large portions. Only downside to this restaurant was the... More

The welcoming, the situation, the decor AND THE FOOD are the best of the best. I recommend the soufflé and the tournedos Rossini. The Burgundy wine served in a glass or at the bottle is worth to drink. The boss Philippe knows his stuff, you mostly want to become his friend.

Yesterday (30th Nov), went there with a couple of my friends. Totally loved the starters and the cheese and wine. The gentleman who was serving us was very friendly and helped us to decide. I can't wait to go their again and try more entrees!!!

Had a surprise birthday dinner party for a girlfriend a few weeks ago. When we booked the restaurant we had specifically asked for the private room. Of course it wasn't ready when we turned up. We were told we didn't ask for the room. We had the room some 15 minutes later. Luckily my girlfriend was running late so we... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
