Greeted and treated very nicely indeed, very attentive staff, friendly and attentive...should be highly commended. The decor and cleanliness however leave a lot to be desired, seated in front of the cooking area not a good idea at all, quite dirty and greasy equipment very visible. The food was certainly not to the standard of a restaurant at all. Over sauced and overdressed plates... More

We were staying at the Chifley & couldn't be bothered going out for dinner but found this restaurant very good. My wife had vegetarian options both nights & was very happy. I had the rump on one night & the roo on the other. Both meals were very tasty & well cooked. Marie who was managing the restaurant was delightful!

We had several meals here (lunch is served till 5pm, dinner till about 9pm). The dining room overlooks the swimming pool. It was a great opportunity for us to try Barramundi (something we can't get in the UK). All the meals were freshly cooked and were very good value. Can get busy in the evenings, but there is a bar... Our group of 4 stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Barra on Todd. Calamari entree was very tender and delicious. 3 of us had different styles of Barra dish (Crispy Skinned Barra, Thai style whole Barra & Macadamia Crusted Barra - all beautifully cooked, while 1 had the Kangaroo - also beautifully cooked and very... A good restaurant with a good menu but does require a few basic meals when you don't feel like fish & steak. Overall a nice dining experience with friendly staff.

Just arrived in Alice as a resident and came here to celebrate a special occasion with my partner. The food was very average. Soft shell crab was cold and mushy sitting on a bed of wilted salad. Squid was also cold and quite ordinary. Our barramundi dishes lacked any seasoning at all. My side of steamed veg had no butter... More

I stayed at the chiefly hotel for 2 nights and dined at the restaurant for both nights and both mornings for breakfast. The first night I ordered the duck which was delicious and would have it again, the second night I ordered the salmon with risotto which was tasteless, mostly lacking any flavor from the actual risotto itself (I had... We were staying in the hotel and decided to eat in the restaurant rather than go into town for dinner and we were glad to have done so. The food was good with lots of options. We enjoyed our calamari starter. For mains, I had the wallaby pasta and the husband had the macadamia crusted barramundi and both were delicious... More

The restaurant Barra on the Todd at the Chiefly Hotel is wonderful. There is a good selection of all types of meals to suit everyone but we decided that we would choose one of the Barramundi specials. So please we did as it was excellent. Servoce very good. Initially I felt the restaurant was perhaps a little too bright and... More
