we have a lunch this week at new Rendezvous Cafe in Mitchell Street and order beef rendang. i live in Singapore for couple of years and travel to Malaysia sometimes. The taste of Beef Rendang at Rendezvous Cafe is far from close to what i use to know. the Sauce is not bathed in thick aromatic coconut sauce.

Delicious cheap laksa, huge variety, BBQ pork, chicken, seafood, combination, wanton, the list is endless. Also specialise in other soups and Asian dishes. Quick service and always busy.

Came all the way to Darwin to fan the flame for a Rendzvous Laksa, and was sorely disappointed. New premises, chaotic service, and ordinary laksa. Who puts cabbage in a laksa? 1 x half piece of tofu, cabbage instead of Bean shoots, and smaller bowls for an increased price. Feels like you've forgotten what made made you special - the... More

The service was slow, the chicken penang (at $14) uninspiring and the spring rolls average. Sorry guys, got to call it like I see it. It was a busy lunch period and the service was friendly.

Booked in for 1pm. At 1.20 pm we were seated at a table that had yet to be cleaned and no orders had been taken. Small group, clearly busy and not well run. 1 person serving. Not sure if the food is worth it, hard to say if you never actually receive it.

Went on Friday to check out the new premises. I hope it was an off day because it was the most ordinary Asian food I have had for a long time. On our table we ordered pandan chicken which was ok, nasi lemak and beef rendang (why did we bother?). The rendang was more akin to braised beef and lacked... More

I went to this cafe because of the reviews saying it's the best laksa on Darwin. If this is the best it gets so close to Asia then I've missed the mark. I've had far better laksa in Adelaide. Service was however friendly and fast and the meal was not expensive.

Since Rendezvous moved to NT House it has lifted its game. The new venue is much more spacious. We had a work lunch here and many enjoyed their Laksas whilst I had Pandang Chicken. Service was also very prompt.

As regulars at the old location in Star Village we were attracted to the place for its homely service, and consistent quality of the dishes from the staff, who are mostly owner operators. After moving to the new location under NT House Rendezvous has stepped it up a notch - the food is still consistently good and there has been... More

This is my favourite restaurant in Darwin. They have recently moved to a bigger venue but they still have the same great delicious food. The staff are all so friendly too. The best Laksa I've ever had and all the other dishes I've tried have been excellent.
