Four of us went recently, 2 had never tried Ethiopian food before. The restaurant is located at the back of the arcade in the suburbs. - there was no hand washing offered as advertised on their website - decor was pretty ordinary as you would expect in a hidden away place - food was delicious. We shared a platter for... More

First time with Ethiopian for myself or my partner. Made in Africa is vibrant cafe / restaurant that serves many of the local Ethiopian people as a social centre. It has a real cultural vibe and is a great place to hang out. The staff and customers are very welcoming and seem to all be genuinely happy. The decor is... More

Starters were fine, but the real winner was the platter we got to share with several types of curries served with injera (Ethiopian bread). The bread was unusual and had a tart flavour to it, but tasted okay, and was fun to eat the curry with because of the novelty of eating with your hands.

Shame on entry we were not asked to wash our hands as tradition dictates. Music was good, atmosphere would have been better had more people been there. Entrees consisted of a Ethiopian version of a samosa (yummy)and a lighter kale almost baji like, which was divine ( would of loved a dipping sauce). As there were four of us, and none... More

Like lunch at your Nan's just with tasty and interesting food. People were awesome, food was plentiful. Some info on what was on the platter and some eating tuition would have been great but we made it work. Definitely returning.

Well "made in africa" is not fine dining, actually lets call it rustic. It is what it is. But gee i really like the food here, the owner(family business), really look after to you, good advice if you have not been before. Its not for everyone, but i will be back.

My partner and I dined here for lunch on a sleepy Sunday. Unfortunately, the food was also sleepy. The bread was cold (straight from the refrigerator) and the dishes may have been made a few days ago and microwaved. We ordered the platter for two. Everything had the same mushy consistency, which did not do the interesting flavours any justice.... More

Wanted to try something different and Googled African food in and around the South of Brisbane. Read a few websites and this one looked good - it was also licenced, which swayed us, as my partner and I both felt like a glass of wine. The on-line menu looked interested, so off we went. We made a booking over the... More

This restaurant is small, cosy and clean. A bit noisy with many African men, drinking coffee and playing pool next door. The food is really good. Such a different taste experience. If you want to try something different, try African food. The service was OK. The lady at the front counter also prepares the meals. They are licensed.

Food different, but not too exotic. Plenty of choice and GF for most items. They were friendly almost treating us like extended family. Don't go for the décor. Went as a party of 15 which they coped with but wouldn't have wanted to have many more due to size of place. Cheap eat.
