Popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the lunchtime special. Delicious and a beer included.

We had a last of the night drink on the way home. Fuzzy thinking, have a quiet beer at an Irish bar 9 pm Friday night!! There were some very happy customers who seemed to have gone straight there after work, so the Guiness was great, but not so quiet.

We were visiting the Botanical Gardens and were walking back to our hotel, when we decided lunch was in order. We started up Albert Street and saw the sign for Gilhooley's, and thought "you can't go wrong with an Irish Pub!" We were correct! Four of us arrived around noon and were seated straight away by a friendly staff person,... More

Popped in to put a cheeky bet on the horses at the TAB and decided to try the Yenda IPA. Yenda IPA is brewed by the Australian Beer Company (Coca-Cola Amatil) and overall the beer isn’t bad, I didn’t mind it at all although I do prefer craft beers that are not produced en mass (I’m an amateur microbrewer supporter).... This place is ok for some quick pub grub. Just be prepared to hold your nose it smells old and stale. The decor of the dining area desperately needs some work. Service was ok. Just don't have high expectations.

There's shabby chic and then there's just plain shabby! Grotty interior with a cockroach in residence! Food pretty lacklustre and not much of an atmosphere. Customer service could do with some more training. Trying to be an Irish pub, steakhouse, sportsbar and failing on all three counts! Not impressed!

My wife and I have been here before with my family and wasn't over impressed that time. Well we went again as a couple and my wife had the fish which is hard to stuff up so she enjoyed it. I ordered the steak with chips and salad with garlic sauce. I got steak with chips AND mashed potatoes with... More

We came across this bar/restaurant that was close to our hotel. The restaurant area is quite large and when we visited the bar was busy but the area of the restaurant that we were shown to was large, dark, empty and not very welcoming. On the other hand the staff were good. We both ordered steaks and had a longish... More
