My friends and I travelled to Hobart from Melbourne to experience Dark Mofo this year. What a fantastic festival! For a few days it felt as though Australia finally had a culture beyond football. After one of our many visits to Mona we stopped by their wine bar for a chat and...some wine. Of which they had plenty. The decor... More

I love sitting around this bar because (a) it is within walking distance for me (b) it is on a sweet spot atop a promontory on the Derwent (c) it is not in the city (d) it has all sorts of odds and sods from everywhere swanning around - great people watching and oh yeah the service and bevos are... The mixture of Morrilla wines, Moo Brew beers and great food (particularly the shared plates) on the doorstep of MONA makes this place a sure fire winner. We were a large group who sat up at one of the large high tables, got through too many bottles of wine, too much good food, enjoyed the view and then giggled all... More

You pay for the location, the art and the clientele but still the food is rather OK. Some more interesting non-alcoholic drinks would be more arty.

No kids menu, great wine list and good beer selection. The Morrilla Wine makers plate was something for all senses matched perfectly with a glass of wine recommended by friendly staff.

Frank and Micheal went above and beyond in service, paitence and friendliness going out of there way to make us feel welcome in our own way. And as such we bought an extra case of beer

After visiting MONA, it's nice to sit and discuss what you've seen. Inside is cozy and has the museum feel, though we'd have sat outside in better weather. Beers were good and food tasty as we chatted about the day and interesting art collection.

In between Mona visits tried the local wine and beer made on site. Bar has lots of atmosphere .You can drink without concern as you can get the ferry back.
