Quick efficient service and a cosy ambience. Food very tasty. Enjoyed the moomoo dumplings and the goat curry excellent. Medium priced and also can BYO wine.

Excellent value for money, fabulous service and divine food. I had the chicken mango curry with a lovely crisp local white wine and the total came to less than $30. Can't complain about that!

On my trips to Hobart, I love wandering around Battery point and enjoying the restaurants. This Nepalese Resturant has loverly cuisine, the momos yummy, and the Goat curry and Meat balls curry superb. Love the wine list, and deserts generous. Lovely location and a historic setting. Easy walk from Salamanca.

Perfectly reasonable but pretty average. Very cosy setting, lovely staff. Nothing wrong with the food, just not stellar. Goat curry was fine, mixed entrees too. No reason not to go back.

I'd been looking forward to visiting this restaurant having never experienced nepalese cuisine before. Sadly it was a bit ho-hum. We had two totally different curries but when they arrived it was very difficult to tell them apart. I must confess to being British where there are a huge number of Indian restaurants who have over the years moved from... More

We popped in for a quick meal, it was the smell of beautiful curry moving down the street that brought us in. We ordered a simple course ( two curries, rice and breads) plus one glass of reisling only $36 , a great meal very well filling

Kathmandu is relatively new to Hobart, offering a delicious range of Nepalese food, taking inspiration from our neighbours India, Tibet and China. Picture a quiet evening out with your loved one, tucked away in an intimate dining space, soft warm lighting and street views of heritage Battery Point. Or a lively get together with a bunch of friends out the back room. This place caters for all, providing excellent and attentive service. The menu is extensive, offering a range of dishes tailored for meat and vegetables. Selection of curries, covering, fish, chicken, lamb and goat. To accompany serves of garlic roti and rice, one infused with almonds, peas and currants. The flavours in these meals are delicately complex, where saffron, cumin and cardamon marry black pepper cinnamon and ginger. Beautifully presented, and prepared you will be hankering for more.
