We live close by and regularly eat here (once a month), either take away or dine in. It's a bit quirky, what with serving chinese food in an English castle and sometimes the wait staff aren't that observant so you need to be a bit proactive in getting their attention, but the food is fantastic. It's BYO (one of the... More

My absolute favourite place to eat in Hobart. Delicious Chinese food and lovely service. Visit once every six months and the waitress will even have your order memorised! There's usually a bit of a wait for your food but it's well worth it and adds to the experience. To top it all off the restaurant is set in old 70's... More

I booked in with a group of 10 friends for dinner. Weird gothic atmosphere, but the food was not bad. Lots to choose from on the menu and cooked fresh. Interesting place if you are after an unusual dining experience.

Meal was tasty & we had a good selection. 5 of us went, each having selecting a different main plus a fried rice to share. Tasted all meals & all were good. Nice & hot. Took a little time for meals to come out but that showed they were cooked pretty fresh. If I have to pick a fault, the... More

We were a table of 4, arriving at 11.30 (earliest we could get for yum cha), there is a long list of yum cha dishes, which we selected 12 of. All were very very nice, with the steamed dumplings a stand-out. Lots of space around the tables, we were near the wood fire, the waitress was helpful and pleasant. The... More

The food was fantastic. The service was efficient. The biggest surprise was there were only three other tables filled. We'll be back.

I regularly visit Castle Zayee and always enjoy the dishes I choose. The yum cha choices are very beautifully crafted and tasty, the main courses are first class; try the Green Chicken curry; sizzling Garlic Prawns or for a simple meal, Malaysian vegetables or Duck Bone broth. Although the style of the building is oddly themed (as it was formerly... More

The food use to be ok because it is the only cheap yum Cha place in Hobart but after today I will never come back again. Not only the food was terrible but the service was even worst. We were served by the owner and she seems like she didn't want to do any service at all. 5 minutes after... More

The setting is like in a medieval castle. The food is nice and I enjoy the atmosphere. The price is reasonable. I certainly would go back again.
