This would have to be one of the best eateries in Tasmania, the steak is served with a butter knife which goes to show just how tender it is. Owner operators, Julie as front of house/waitress and Jean Claude as the Chef, no fuss just...More

Beautiful home setting with the best steak I've ever had, I recommend the Bearnaise sauce. Always changing the dessert menu and making it incredibly difficult to decide what to choose.

Our 3-generation family of 7 all thoroughly enjoyed Le Provençal. The entrees and mains are all generous and delicious and the desserts are worth leaving some room for if you possibly can! We admired the clever art work on the walls. BYO wine is a...More

This is an amazing small restaurant run by a couple, one of whom is the chef, (from France). The menu is seasonal and is traditional French cuisine. It is consistently beautifully prepared and presented and delicious. Desserts are amazing. The service is impeccable with a...More

This is a fabulous restaurant set up in a converted home cleverly decorated to give you the feel of being in provincial France. The hostess gave us a warm welcome and was very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing, I had the steak,...More

Delicious french onion soup, salmon with vegetable prepared deliciously - I couldn't fit the tarte tartin in unfortunately but I'm sure it would have also been delectable.

Traditional French food - very delicious. Full of local Hobart people and regulars who know how great it is. We had well priced French wine. Service very friendly. Overall a really wonderful evening out.

We have been there on two occasions. Our anniversary, and later on with a group of friends. The food is typically south-west of France, with nice flavours. This is not a modern cooking restaurant, so don't expect fancy presentation. The serving is generous, and the...More

Amazing French cuisine in this Hobart institution that has stood the test of time for thirty years. My wife and I both had the pork belly terrine and then eye fillet with a generous serve of peppercorn sauce. Previous trips the béarnaise sauce has been...More

The menu is tweaked each season, but a good meal is guaranteed and many of the favourites make an appearance on each menu. Take your best wine and enjoy a great night.

Yes, the restaurant is open but you must book. Diners are always dressed neat and casual, no dinner suit or bow tie required. It is an intimate restaurant run by husband and wife, Jean-Claude and Julie. They will look... More

I am pretty sure they are open Wednesday to Saturday for dinner. When we went there, we telephoned and left a voicemail and the owner responded within a couple of hours to confirm the booking.
