We only stopped in here for a cool afternoon beer on a very warm day, but that was long enough for us to appreciate that it looks a cool spot to go for longer. It is a great space, with a good variety of ales and an interesting menu that on other occasions we would have sampled.

Went to Trunk on a sunny Friday night in January, it's the perfect venue for enjoying a summer evening as it has an open air beer garden at the front. The drinks were reasonably priced and had a good range. We didn't eat but the food looked good and was also well priced. They had plenty of staff around so... More

Have been here a few times, once for a leaving drinks and all other times as a meeting location before we head out for dinner! It has a great court yard area and inside is laid out nicely too! Drinks are pretty well priced and they have a great cocktail selection. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and a genuine all round... More

We loved it. Went late, just before closing. They were fast and friendly, nice salad and quesadilla.

A nice and conveniently located inner city bar. Selection of bar food and drinks is quite good, however a little on the experience side for the quality and serving size. Gets quite busy on a Friday afternoon and lots of jostling at the bar - would be nice if staff could keep waiting crowds a little more orderly without the... More

This was my first visit. The service would be my top choice then the food & drinks . Nice surroundings . I did however have to mention to the manager that I did find hair on one of my plates to which I was told I should have said something at the time & not waited until I paid the... More

A great place to eat with a large group. The service was friendly and prompt. The 'Sultan' pizza was absolutely delicious. It was very big and would have fed 2 people easily. The gnocchi was really good. The atmosphere was welcoming, even though it is a very large open building.

We found this restaurant was well presented with quick and committed staff. The wine menu was extensive hover the range of blends was limited if you prefer it by the glass. The food was tasty albeit small in quantity. The service and attention to our needs was spot on although the atmosphere was more akin to an open kitchen with... More

Waiting a long time for a visit and finally got a free day on Friday. In a word fantastic. The restaurant was at the rear of the establishment away from the outside bar areas which blocked all the noise, the staff were very friendly and the recommendation and insight with regards to the meals was spot on. We had the... More

Our first stop upon arriving into the city while waiting for our room to be ready. Although the restaurant was busy but service was prompt and the food was good. Loved the al fresco area as you get to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
