Gloria Jean's is great for a quick breakfast before heading to the Central Train station. The staff is quick and accurate with orders. There are complimentary newspapers. Note: most of the coffees that contain milk are not overly hot. The long black was the only beverage that was served HOT.

Asked for extra hot coffee, but when I tried my cameras latte, it was just warm. Asked them to make the other two coffees that I ordered hot and to make me a new one. They zapped mine on the microwave and expected me to drink it, which I demanded a new one , and because they where or using... More

Gloria Jeans standard is maintained in all their establishments. The food is great and the coffee is to die for.

The coffee is overheated and in fact is ruined. The cakes are overpriced and as they are not made on site are not always that fresh.

We called in on Boxing day, and whilst the coffee was nice, the whole place needed a clean. Dirty tables galore. Only one member of staff didn't help matters, as she was trying to make drinks and refill the counters area. She was lovely and friendly though.

The Gloria Jeans store in Flinders Street is opposite the entrance to Flinders Street Station at the south end of Elizabeth St. It is a bit quieter at that end of the street, so the store avoids the chaos of the more central Melbourne CBD locations. The store is roomy with nice seating options, including some nice sofa-type seats. The... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
