The restaurant has a Monday night special including wine. It was excellent value and the wine was great.

We've been to A La Bouffe many times and we've never been disappointed. The lunch Prix fixe is a treat. Sadly it will end at the end of the year. Three courses with a glass of wine and coffee ONLY $49.90. Morgan always provides a friendly and professional service. Bien amicable et gentille ma belle Morgan! She just returned to... More

We walked in without a reservation and a large bouquet of flowers. We were shown to a great table and the flowers put aside. The waiters were on point. Monday is their steak night: a Shiraz, steak with salad and fries and desert (I chose the creme brûlée) for $50. My medium rare steak was perfect! The bearnaise sauce was... More

We went for the "Steak Pomme Frites Night". Delicious 250g porterhouse steak with your choice of bernaise sauce, mushroom sauce or red wine jus, served with pomme frites, salad and a glass of Cotes Du Rhone. Absolutely delicious and the crepes suzette were outstanding. All for $50. Looking forward to another visit next time we are in Melbourne.

We're regulars here and it's usually fantastic. However our anniversary celebration meal was below average. The shared degustation entree was poor. Our mains looked good. However, the pork belly seemed like it was reheated ... overcooked, dry with inedible crust on the bottom. The asparagus side had very little asparagus. The seafood bisque was excellent. The rest of our meal... More

Expensive food that wasn't that great. We had steaks, one of which was completely inedible due to sinewy fat and gristle all through. They didn't charge for it, which was fair enough, but it was disappointing and spoilt the experience.

Visited for an anniversary celebration. Nice buzz and liked being seated downstairs with a bit of activity. Large choice of food and nice selection of drinks by the glass. I think the issue could be that there are too many food choices to do a really good job with the mains. We selected the rabbit with mustard sauce and the... More

A lovely restaurant and delicious food. Traditional French Bistro with traditional food. The bisque was wonderful and I loved the clafoutis which was served warm with ice cream. The menu is large and all the favourites are there but there are plenty of choices for those who don't eat meat and for vegetarians. My vegetarian main dish was gnocchi with... More

A special treat to celebrate our children's hard work with the french language. Pate amazing! My duck was delicious and the children report that the other mains equally enjoyed. Desserts looked amazing but did not have the depth of flavour we expected. Wine good with selection of french and local. Staff friendly, efficient and willing to speak french to the... More

We had dinner Saturday night and would highly recommended this restaurant. We were unsure of the wines as we did not know any of the names the staff were more than happy to let us try a few so we would enjoy our wine with dinner. I had prawn and lobster ravioli it was the best I have ever ordered.
