There are a few very good deli stalls inside aswell. The night market is also spectacular food and drinks as far as you can see! So much to choose from aswell and usually some sort... More

Walking through the fresh fruit and vegetable stores and then into the meats and seafood I felt inspired to cook up a storm!! Then venturing into the deli area with all the different foods you feel like you travel through 10 different countries in 10 metres. This place is not just a 'foodies' delight, but I think anyone that enjoys... More

Was amazing to wander down the lane where all the butchers were spruiking their wares and competing with the other butchers with their prices. Wonderful variety of food, and the fresh fruit and vegies were well priced, as were the clothing etc.

I spent a couple of hours here exploring the fresh produce a delicatessen part of the markets. Extremely happy with some delicious purchases, including locally blended spice mix for the hot cross buns for this weekend. A refreshing reminder that we need to branch out from what mainstream supermarkets suggest we should be eating!

The food court and food markets are excellent with a variety of cuisines and specialty items. I really enjoyed the Sri Lankan restaurant - something about a good curry and rice for breakfast. Also the range of stores in the market is excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed this market as it had different stalls which consisted of locally made products and your normal Australian souvenir products. I bought kitchen ware, table clothes, bone necklaces, security handbag, quality hair brush, tiled pictures all very reasonably priced items . Towards another end of the markets in another building, there were little shop stalls that sold a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
