We were sat at a bench overlooking the kitchen and this was very entertaining. The chefs are meticulously clean and appeared to work like a finely oiled machine. We ordered a black miso scotch fillet and tempura veg. Also had matcha bomb and Mont Blanc for dessert. Beautiful. The food was lovely but perhaps a little overpriced. We would recommend... More

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Our waiter was very nice and tried his best which was lovely. The meals we picked were all very nice, small though and prices are high. Nice location on the Yarra and so close to flinders. Note Main meals are small You need to get sides with your mains Sit outside if... More

Service friendly and efficient, location by the river with great views. The food is always excellent. This time we had sashimi, kingfish, lamb shoulder, duck dumplings and a spicy tune roll. Super fresh fish, great flavours - just a really nice pre-theatre meal. Its never going to be cheap but worth it.

We had tuna tataki and it was fantastic! I like to go to a restaurant where I eat the food that I don't know to cook it at home, and this is that type of restaurant. The taste, the spices combination, the meat cut, everything was perfect!

Can't go wrong with their popcorn shrimp and Miss Wednesday cocktail. It's just so damn good. Great service too!

Food is outstanding. Recommend the banquet option...you get a broad taste of the menu. All of the dishes were fantastic. Wine list was also terrific. Only issue was the service which was exceptionally slow. Otherwise food and ambience were both great.

We ate at an outdoor table on a wonderful Melbourne evening. We asked the server for recommendations and selected about 15 plates (there were five of us). One dish (cold appetiser) arrived immediately, a good start, but we then encountered the first of many long waits between dishes. The server disappeared and had to be flagged down to get more... I love Sake. No, I really mean it - Sake is one of my family's special occasion restaurants in our home town and believe me, we are spoilt for choice. My son wanted to celebrate his 17th birthday at Sake this week. Highest praise to our waiter. She was outstanding, helping us to decide on an adventurous menu, explaining unfamiliar... More

I have already dined here for several time but this time I was so disappointed by lack of service and poor food quality. Just came here by myself for the craving of Japanese foods. No booking, but easily can get a spot for myself. Asked for the sparkling water for myself and expected they will bring out 500ml but just... More

I work near Sake and have visited it twice now. The portions are incredibly small and the prices over inflated. They bring out dishes as they're ready which renders 'starters' and 'mains' meaningless. On my first visit they brought out the steamed rice as the very last dish. The pork belly, although tasty, had very little meat on it, it... More
