Over cooked and excessively salty pie, outside seating caters to smokers so you must walk through their smoke while exiting and entering the restaurant. People complaining about smoke.

Went for breakfast and enjoyed it. Good coffee and excellent value - not CBD prices at all. A large takeaway coffee for $3.70?! No wonder it was well patronized on a Sunday morning. No reason I won't be back next time I'm in Melbourne.

Our breakfast here was yummy and if youre lucky you can grab a seat in the sun on the corner of Spring and Little Collins. Its a busy place but service was fine and our breakfast delivered reasonably fast.

If you are looking for a place that serves the full English breakfast then look no further. Cooked to perfection and the portions are not skimpy. Hits the spot and worth every penny.

Very yummy full breakfast for a fraction of the hotel cost. Nice outdoor tables, cheerful, friendly service and a home cooked meal. Many choices on the menu. We were here twice for breakfast and also pre ordered sandwiches to go. It does get busy so there may be a wait for your order, but it's worth the wait unless you're... More

I stopped here for breakfast about 9.30 on Saturday. There were a few empty tables inside, and most outside were also empty, though when I left it was about 3/4 full everywhere. I had a big breakfast which included 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast, 2-3 rashes of bacon, a sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, half a tomato, hash brown. The... More

Nice atmosphere and good variety of breakfast options. The service was friendly and prompt. We have egg Benedict and the Excello special. Both very nice. Absolutely recommended as an alternative to expensive breakfast at the hotel.

My partner is a real country boy that likes his meat and 3 veg. He is not a big fan of going out for breakfast where I love it. It's breakfast menu has a lot of variety from eggs Benedict, omelettes, pancakes, muesli, toast and more! It's lunch menu looked nice with lasagna, steak sandwich, beef burger, salads and for... We had breakfast at Cafe Excello every day during our time in Melbourne this week. Whilst the food was so tasty, with really healthy options it was the staff that made this great cafe so special. Such warm and friendly people, who treated three mature aged ladies from Tasmania feel like part of their family. This is where we will... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
