This place is well worth the visit and please don't panic that you will most likely have to line up because they have the process down pat. You order whilst waiting so all there is left to do when you get a table is sit down and be amazed. Plus the wait is never that long. People eat here for... More

Came here with my friend because we were looking for food that resembles something of home. This restaurant definitely does it. Considered more of a greasy-spoon than fine dining, you'll get fantastic food at a great price. Although, you'll have to get the jugs of water yourself and don't expect a smile from the waiters and waitresses. Oh, and expect... More

We didn't wait in the que for too long. The place is small but the service was reasonably good. The food in particular the dumplings were absolutely delicious and very cheap. Amazing value for money and we will certainly go back there. I highly recommend it!

There is always a queue outside this restaurant but your time there isn't wasted. You are handed a menu, paper and pen and place your order before you get inside the door so that your food is waiting by the time you get your table. However, the best thing about this place is definitely the food which is excellent .... More

The food is OK, but the staff is rude and unfriendly. We ordered a chicken-noodles and they served us noodles and chicken with chili. It was not what I expected because on the menu it said nothing about the chili and the spiciness of the food. They should inform the clients and this kind of things should be written clearly... Very inexpensive and authentic dishes, great dumplings. Unfortunately staff at the Lonsdale St branch were very disinterested and pretty rude really. Shame.

Thanks to a local I got the treat of eating in one of the best dumpling houses I have ever visited. Yes there was a line (40 minute) wait to be seated, but they take your order while you wait so your meal turns up quickly once you are shown to your table. Cheap, tasty and amazing!

The food was incredible. So good I went three times during my holidays. Service is good and fast. There is always a line to get in, but it is totally worth the wait (which isn't too long)

Look out for the queue out the front. That's the main clue... this establishment is the real deal. The food is quick, clean and tastes delicious. Of course one of the cheapest restaurants in the cbd. What more could you ask for?

This place was recommended to us at our hotel. Gave it a try and was stunned by the quality and speed at which it arrived. Absolutely delicious food and so glad we waited in the queue to get in. So good that we went back another night and this time waited in the queue until the doors opened at 5.30pm.... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
