Best hidden bar I've come across! You ring a door bell to which someone answers and then they seat you either in the east or west of Berlin.. which is awesome so one side is all fancy and nice and the other side is poor and run down.. the beer was really good and the cocktails were fancy.. go see... Wonderful night here celebrating the end of my post-graduate exams (for now). Good cocktails, friendly service.

After not being quite certain we had found the right place and ascended the stairs and knocked on the door we had a very pleasant surprise as we were escorted up the stairs and in to the bar. We were given the option of sitting in the snazzy west or duller less refined (but excellently decorated east side. We opted... More

This must be one of the fanciest pub around. A bit intimate and trendy. Good selection of beers and more. A kind of chill place to start your pub hopping..:)

We didi a free tour with my friend when we first got to the city, and loved the idea of the bar, so we were able to go the last night we were staying in Melbourne, and we sat in teh Eastern section, had a gin an tonic (very tasty, by the way) and really loved the vibe of the... More

Yes you can have a drink in east and West Berlin but it's so small that it's basically the same thing. Had fun but nothing special

Loooove the concept of east vs west and having been to Berlin, really appreciated the distinction made. Sensational cocktail, spirit, beer and a select but quality wine list! Loved the fries!! Can't wait to return with friends!!

After dinner we went up to the Berlin Bar - our first drink was in East Berlin and then we moved to West Berlin for the next drinks. Funky décor and awesome atmosphere.

Looking for an usual late night venue to drink after a meal, a colleague's friend recommended the Berlin Bar. And unusual it was. From the unassuming doorway on an "alley" where you must climb a stair case past a "comedy club" to nearly the third floor to be confronted by a "locked" unassuming door with a door bell. After ringing... More

Great concept with east and West Berlin taking on their own feel. You choose which side you'd like to be on, decadent west or grungy east. Nice snack but not really enough for a full meal. Have been here a few times. Great cocktail menu and nice selection of beers

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
