We ate here both evenings we were in Melbourne, and really do not understand why they are not packed out each night. Food and service are great and reasonably priced. Thanks very much.

This is a lrge accommodation place with a good but expensive restaurant in the building. Well away from the Casino.

We walked in off the street, very tired after a long day and were directed to a lively table near the window. I ordered a lemon lime and bitters....probably the best I've had in a long time. I ordered a chicken caesar salad and it far exceeded my expectation. My partner ordered squid rings and prawns, chips and a side... More

We had dinner at Il Sole whilst in Melbourne and staying at the adjacent Atlantis Best Western hotel. It is very conveniently located opposite the Southern Cross railway station in Spencer Street. We were readily accommodated without a reservation on a Sunday night. Whilst claiming to be an Italian restaurant it has a variety of food choices including Thai Spring... More

As we had flown in from Cairns we didn't feel like going far for a meal and, as there was an entry from the hotel we decided to eat here. We were greeted by a friendly male who told us to sit where we wanted. The main course was excellent and, as the restaurant was fairly quiet at that time... More

I walked in off the street, dining alone, the service was excellent, and the food beautiful. The atmosphere is casual and suited the myself and the other diners who were on their way to a sporting event. I had pork saltimbocca and could not resist ice cream and berry basket for dessert. Close to Etihad stadium. The only criticism the... More

We visited this twice when staying at Best Western Atlantis next door. The Montecarlo Penne with chicken was to die for as was the Garlic Bread as our entrée. Fairly responsibly priced as well.

I've eaten here on a number of occasions as we stay at the Best Western next door. I get the seafood risotto every time because it's absolutely delicious!! We also had a carbonara that was creamy and flavoursome. You can eat in or take away or get delivery to the Best Western. The meals come out very quickly and and... More

Beautiful meal, quick and great price also delivers to the best western next door. Stayed hot and was a large serve too much for me to eat but enjoyed it. Staff friendly too. Would recommend if in Melb

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
