Delicious food and very creative menu. Movida is pretty small, we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table at 2pm in the afternoon. It was worth the wait! If this was in my neighborhood, I would be there every week.

Popped in on Christmas Eve for lunch - tried 2 tapas-the famous Anchoa (unbelievable smokey and salty flavour) , the bomba - and then a racion - the calamari. Delicious! Couldn't resist the dulce de leche for dessert. Including two glasses of champagne the price was still good for this quality of food! Nice relaxed atmosphere too. Will definitely go... More

We were recommended this place by cousins who had ate here previoulsy and really enjoyed it. We didnt have a reservation but that was no problem and we didnt wait long to be seated. Food & wine were both very good and we had an enjoyable evening trying some new foods.

I had a great time there, oysters were delicious so was the scallops, a bit disappointed with the beef and it's pretty expensive but still I think you have to try it

Being slaves to the Lonely Planet guide book, we tried to get in MoVida when we arrived in Melbourne but we couldn't get a table. We went back earlier the next night and managed to get seated at the bar which was actually great! The menu is really different and the staff really know their stuff - recommend asking them... More

Great food here. High quality Spanish tapas with a twist ie not your usual boring tapas. Besutiful friendly wait staff & a great selection of international wines & beers. Highly recommended. Book ahead or go early as it's VERY popular.

Service: ++ Food: ++ Price: - Location: + Decoration: + The food is delicious and the staff is really good. Original tapas. Only the prices are some a bit off. For example desserts are way to expensive for what you get.

Expensive and very small portions. The airport MoVida is even worse. Tasty food though, just resign to the fact you're not in Spain, you're paying australian pices and you'll be still hungry afterwards.

Mo Vida has a wonderful reputation so we went along expecting a great meal. It was good and cant complain, but I expected more. The cheeses were lovely, the fish was tasty and the waiting staff were good, if overly familiar. I will try again because it has such a good reputation.

Thank Bagdadnote

When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the

cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes.

It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow

braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
