A lively vibrant and yet romantic experience. Incredible food that tantalises the tastebuds.I'd recommend asking the staff to feed you saving you the bother of choosing We had a wonderfully balanced meal that left us both wanting more and feeling fully satisfied.

It was my first time at Movida in Melbourne and although I have been to Movida in Sydney it felt like a different restaurant. Every dish was really enjoyable and put together by our waitress which made the entire ordering process so much easier. Highly recommended to try it out if you are in Melbourne.

Small tapas bar with great atmosphere. Even when full in the early evening it wasnt too noisy. Service was excellent with good spacing between the dishes which generally arrived one at a time so you were able to enjoy each taste. Food was all very good without being exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the queso tapa and the burrata and beetroot.... More

One of the best places we've ever eaten in - anywhere Small plates but the tastes!!!!!!!!!! Any restaurant can make a leaf of lettuce taste of garlic but how do you make a piece of garlic taste like lettuce????? And the value is astounding.

A lovely restaurant for a treat or special occasion. The food is expensive and servings are small but it is DELICIOUS and innovative, with great service. Our bill was $180 for two people for a decadent and celebratory lunch.

Description
When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the

cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes.

It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow

braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
