Its ok. Service was good but in the end it was your run of the mill Chinese. Liked the pan fried pork dumplings but the other dishes didnt win me over.

I loved this restaurant. The service could have been a bit faster and more organised but it was worth the wait. We just order entrées but they were amazing! Pork belly on toast and fried tofu with sweet chilli lime sauce. It was very different especially the pickled cucumbers in the tofu dressing. The pork belly was awesome. The cocktail... More

We grabbed a quick lunch here and the food was good and reasonably priced. A highlight was the salt and pepper calamari, we really liked that.

I had a very satisfying lunch here. I had chicken satay, "special" fried rice and a banana fritter. The food tasted excellent and the banana fritter was very very good indeed. I was also impressed by the special fried rice which consisted of many ingredients and not so oily, at though it had been char grilled the traditional way with... More

Friends and I went into this restaurant as it was one of the only ones open in China town late on a Friday evening. The service was rushed and essentially non-existent, but they had warned us we would have to order quickly as the kitchen was closing soon. The food came out and was very average. The real problem came... More

We went here for a quick dinner before going to seeing a show at the theater. All l can say is that we really enjoyed it. I had the duck for the first time in my life and loved it. The meal and the drinks were wonderful and we had a bit of live entertainment on the outside with bubblebee... More

I had dinner here with my husband on the 27 December . Fried rice consisted of boiled rice with a bag of frozen veg mix thrown in, a little fried egg and a couple of pieces of bacon. Chicken dish tasted solely of vinegar, not edible . On the positive, nice staff however they were let down horribly by the... More

There wasn't a lot open and it was raining, so we just decided on the first place we found that were still doing service. We thoroughly enjoyed the duck San Choy Bow entree and the Schezwan Beef and Mixed Veggies were very tasty. In fact the Vege Dish was one of the nicest I've had in a Chinese restaurant for... More

Quality to price is a horrible option. I stopped there to have late dinner with my girlfriend as many other options nearby had the kitchen closed already, and the food was really terrible. We were again surprised when we had to fix the bill. Try to avoid.

Had dinner with some friends and we chose the banquet. The food was delicious and there was plenty left over after we had finished. We started with the chicken and sweet corn soup, shared the four entrees between us and shared the four mains as well as the fried rice. Brilliant food, was very deceiving from the outside, actually three... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
