I went there on a cold and wet evening and really enjoyed the warm atmosphere. It was reasonably busy on the quiet end of the street. They serve only craft beer and I enjoyed mine. The parma I had tasted ok, but I must admit it fell short of great, mostly because of how thin the chicken was sliced. The... More

This is the second time we have been here whilst travelling to Melbourne, luckily both times we've been able to get a table without a booking. The food is terrific! The craft beers are awesome, definitely do the tasting paddle. The staff were extremely helpful yesterday helping us out with our seven month old son - even setting up a... More

My friends and I had a very rewarding meal at Mrs Parmas before attending The Princess Theatre to see 'The Book of Mormon'. Two of us had the 'original' chicken Parma. It was excellent. Surprisingly they did not have any veal. Only chicken and eggplant. The chips and salad were good. Another of my fellow diners had a hamburger and... More

Was expecting it to be the way it used to be. Super thin chicken, I ordered the bolognese one and there was next to no sauce or flavour. It was still nice but nothing special. We also ordered the dim sim one , it had tiny dim sums on top which added nothing special to the meal.

Quality of cheese, ham, and sauce was great, but let down severely by the lack of thickness to the schnitzel, and lack of crispness of the crumb. Mrs Parma needs to get her house in order. If it was any other pub it would be fine, but I was expecting more from a place specialising in parmas. Service was great,... More

We ate at Mrs parmas and it was tasty. The service to get our food out was super quick and the food was a large portion. We had to share our chips and salad between two of us, which is fine as the parmas were nice and big. A lot of people rave about this place but i am not... More

This place is like a hidden gem for me, as reccomanded by local friend. But wow what a tasty chiken parma I had. It was Hugh and yummy and able to finishing was a challenge 😊. And side dishes like fresh salad and Crip chips was too good. It's a place to treat yourself and good to have pre booking... More

I am a big Parmy lover and this was high on the must try list while visiting Melbourne and it didn't disappoint. There is a decent selection on the menu and the quality of the food is great. The price is a little expensive but well worth trying. I would go back again!

Parmas are fantastic, albeit on the pricey side with a choice of schnitzel, chicken and eggplant, and a variety of interesting toppings. Beer selection is one of the best you will find in a gastropub with a focus on Victorian craft and weekly rotating taps. Great place and will always return for beer, food or both!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
