Really fancied Chinese but it was not up to standard we are used to. Disappointed and we had bought quite a bit.

We had dinner here during the school holidays and they were pushed with all the take away orders and only 2 staff. Would like to try when less busy has been in the same family for years.

A lot of other places were closed .
Checked out the menu and thought why not .
Had the vegetable omelette and a serve of spring rolls ... absolutely no complaints
Very quirky little place

Rang to make a booking for New Years Day and the lady was very friendly and accomodating.
We arrived and our table was prepared and ready to place an order.
As we wanted wine, the lady suggested the bottle shop up the street - no extra charge for corkage.
The food we ordered was delicious and authentic Chinese food. Service was quick and all meals were piping hot.
The female owner came and had a chat with us toward the end of the meal. She was friendly and shared the history of her family and of the restaurant.
We loved the memorabilia around the restaurant, explaining family history and restaurant history in the the town of Broome.
If you want REAL Chinese food - Son Ming Chinese Restaurant is the place to eat.

The food here while not being the best Chinese I have ever ate was still amazing and tasted great. The service was fine and the wait time for the food was surprisingly short. It was an authentic little store with over 150 years of history and you could tell by the taste of the food and the atmosphere inside. Overall it had great tasting food with an extensive menu and I would recommend to anyone in the area

When we booked over the phone, they weren’t even going to bother to take our name, which should have been a warning. Turned up and there were only two parties there and plenty of empty tables.
The chef peered through the back and gestured for us to sit anywhere. The waitress finally came out, sneezing over a nearby table as she cleared it. Should have made haste then, but we stayed, only to annoy her when we hadn’t grabbed the menus (almost the size of those in Schitts Creek)! When we ordered, she asked for the payment immediately!
Listening in to the next victims, we did laugh when one of them asked if rice came with their meal, only to be told a sharp “no”. The look on the diner’s face when she asked for payment in advance was priceless.
Meanwhile another couple came in, sat down and then walked out after waiting far too long.
At least we could walk out as soon as we finished our meal, which, by the way, was pretty average.
Had some great laughs tonight, so I should add a point for entertainment.

In trying to support local business this is a failure. We were the only ones there three quarters of an hour before the cinema started screenings. We quickly found out why. After ordering, the two dishes came out way too fast to have been cooked fresh! The beef and black bean sauce was dismal. The sauce was not black bean and was too thick. The sweet and sour pork, normally a reliable staple for regional chineses restaurants, was very disappointing. The pork was battered and appeared to be made up of two different time lines.
Can’t complain about the service; there was no service to comeplain about. It was almost as if we spoilt the night by turning up! The bloke set the table with no personality and the lady , while polite, took our order because she had to. This is one half hour we won’t get back.

Paid $110 for takeaway for two people. Plum duck (ordered lemon duck) was inedible. No ducks were harmed in the making of this dish! Just mushy deep fried flour.
San Choy Bow was tasty though and ginger scallops okay but over priced.
Ordered off menu listed on line but prices had gone up considerably when we went to pick it up.
Overall very disappointing

Absolutely TERRIBLE FOOD!!. Could not possibly recommend this rubbish.
And the smallest dish sizes we have ever seen for Take Away. Prices are a joke for this swill. Dry old Special Fried rice looked like it was cooked days ago. Beef chow mien was tough and in edible . The chicken and vegetables was slightly better but BOTH were drowned in Garlic. Do not know how they stay in business.

Definitely NOT the best Chinese meal by a long shot.
Can't review the service.. There wasn't any. The lady bringing the food coighed all over it. No mask considering her cold. Nothing on the tables.. and I mean NOTHING. Definitely not recomended.

This restaurant was recommended to us by some locals so we thought we would give it a go. I don’t like giving bad reviews as I think they can be grossly unfair so let me just say I cannot recommend this restaurant judging by the quality of my dinner
