Purchased three lunch deals to eat in the evening in my hotel room Because I did not want to eat out.Three meals for the two of us gave us a ridiculous amount of food. The curries were beautiful but the naan bread one of the best I’ve tasted in many years. I would highly recommend the food at this restaurant. The three curries with three huge naan but no drinks cost NZ$36. In my opinion, excellent value.

We were visiting in the area for two nights and both nights we got take aways from here! The food was excellent! The proportions were ample and the flavours were beautiful!!

I visited Mumbai Express New Lynn today and ordered Pav Bhaji. The Bhaji was tasteless and I eaten as mixed vege curry. The bread was not properly toasted.
Never ever visit again.

We passed this restaurant and stopped to look at the menu and decided to return later for a takeaway. Wow, what delicious food, as good as it gets in every aspect.
Highly recommended.

Been craving Biryani and a friend brought us here after work. This place was open, we arrived at 7:30pm. Service was good and fast, food is excellent. We specially like the chicken biryani and chapati that we have to order the same dish again.

Had vege Manchurian and shahi paneer. The vege paneer was super and the manchurian was to do die for. Had a good Indian food experiences after long time. Highly recommend

Visited the restaurant on Saturday at around 7pm... Was not very busy and just a few tables were occupied. Had to wait 10 minutes for the menu to be given to us. We ordered a hyderabadi biryani and a malai kofta with rotis. Then the real wait began... The hostess came back after 45 minutes to gives us our cutlery and then just before 8.20pm our food arrived. The meal was freshly cooked and was steaming hot and tasty... But nothing exceptional to justify the huge wait! We definitely won't be visiting this restaurant in future... or at least till I get to know they've fixed their timeliness issues . Not recommended.

We were staying at the Proximity Apartments nearby and this restaurant is literally not more than 200 metres from the front door. Our flight was late arriving in Auckland and the food outlets inside the nearby mall close at 9pm. This was open until 10. The menu was varied and the decor is cheerful. One negative factor was that all the tables felt “sticky” as though they’d been wiped with a cloth soaked in lemonade. I heard another patron complain but the waitress said she couldn’t fix it. It was it was very disconcerting and detracted from the meal.
Another peculiarity was that we couldn’t buy beer or wine until the manager/licensee returned. This was about 15 minutes later. Food was good so a take away might be better.

What great place.
From the friendly greeting when we got there to the mouth watering curry with perfectly cooked chicken and fish (not together)
We have to come to Manukau for business frequently ... so we will be back.

We are regular visitors of Mumbai Express. One of the main reason for regular visits is that their consistency and the quality of the food is excellent. Also, they have a Well balanced menu which can be catered to everyone's taste. Example of when I am trying for Hyderabadi biriyani my wife can have a south Indian dish of Masala Dosha. Tough they are not specialist of south Indian dishes but their Masala Dosha was perfect better than any other south Indian restaurants in Auckland. Keep it your good work and serving to the community.

I travel often for work and finding somewhere that suits a solo diner can be a bit of a mission, however Mumbai Express was a good choice. I ordered the vegetable curry and a paratha bread. The service was efficient without any frills and my meal came reasonably quickly.
I was a bit disappointed because I’d ordered the curry on the basis of the description which said it had okra, potato and eggplant in it but when it came, it had none of these. The vegetables were clearly frozen veggies but the only saving grace was the beautiful sauce it was cooked in. The paratha was delicious too so a 3/5 for food and a higher score for a nice, clean restaurant. I really wish the curry came as described. Reasonable prices.

I had vegetarian for lunch from the ready to go selection , not from the menu. Great that I was able to have a taster first to make sure that I could cope with their 'medium' spicey. Price was awesome!!! $8.50 for a curry and rice - big portion. Excellent value and better than anywhere else I have seen. Staff were helpful answering my questions (as I don't know indian food that well) and it was quick service. Lovely sunny spot to relax and watch the world go by. I would go back :-)

We visited this Mumbai exprees in manukau,restaurant last night ,This is one of the most delicious Indian meals we have ever eaten. The menu is extensive and varied and caters for all tastes of Indian cuisine. We had the Reshmi kabab to start and this was absolutely delicious. For mains we had Chicken chicken jaipuri and Chicken ,saagwala, both wonderful and filling. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I listened in to other diner's commenting on their meal and all was positive. We will certainly go back here

My wife and I wanted some curry for dinner. We stopped in here.
The place is clean and tidy, very warm feel. I had mild butter chicken and my wife had medium.
The food was delicious, we enjoyed it because we always find that some restaurants make there butter chicken quite sweet. This curry was spot on. The service was good, food was great.
Would recommend to others
Thanks for a nice Friday dinner.
We will definitely be back.
