We had to reschedule a Christmas high tea twice due to family illness and the staff couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. Despite finally going for the high tea in early Jan they even made sure we had Christmas crackers etc! Beautiful range of teas, of which we're able to try different varieties, beautiful surroundings and spread of delicious treats. Thankyou especially to the restaurant manager who was fantastic.

Excellent Hens Day High Tea

We held a Hens Day High Tea here and the efficiency of Simon and his team was fantastic. The variety of Menus to choose from to cater to our dietary requirements was impressive and all the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The blend of heritage with a modern motif set a lovely ambience which separates this High Tea experiences from others I have had in Auckland. The staff were so attentive - thank you Simon for making the whole process so seamless and making the Bride-to-be feel incredibly special. From the decorations/name tags on the table, the beautifully presented food to the richly decorated T2 Crockery, it was all such a sensory pleasure to be there!

Not a lot of fresh, healthy dishes on offer

Our room's compendium promised that Cooke's offered fresh, healthy dishes, which didn't turn out to be true once we were seated at the table, menu in hand. The food was rich, and flavourful, though heavy on the fat, and not a lot of vegetables on offer. We tried the snapper with mashed potatoes and vegetables - all doused in a generous dollop of butter; the burger, which turned out to be a little underwhelming; and Huevos Rancheros, scrambled eggs, and brisket hash at breakfast. The wait staff were the highlight, offering suggestions where needed, and providing professional, tip-worthy service.

Set menu with limited options but delicious food and a chef that knows well how to combine flavor and presentation beautifully. The complimentary breakfast is made to order with perfectly done poached eggs, edible flowers, the works. No juices or cereals available though, so keep in mind your diet. The portions are large and the wait staff attentive and nice. Prices are surprisingly low.

When I last visited I was impressed with the menu and decided to bring my friend with me over bank holiday for dinner. To our suprise the menu had a new look. We was looked after Simon once again along with Ana who both recommended great dishes the Citrus Tuna was delicious. I was told that soon they will be adding a festive menu and can't wait to come and try this aswell l. All the team throughout the restaurant and hotel seemed genuinely happy to help and enjoy their work another great visit back

Visiting Auckland for a weekend away and found the most stunning boutique hotel in the cbd. All the staff are welcoming from the moment you walk through those big doors. I had dinner at Cooke's and was greeted by a Young Man Simon whom was polite and very welcoming I was taken over to a table and was recommended a few dishes. There was a pretty lady also servicing my table I think Anastasiya very polite and smiling. The food was delicious and would recommend the Lamb Shank to anyone whom visits. All the staff where friendly and looked like they enjoyed their work from service to the reception team. A little hotel with a big hearted Team

Fabulous dining Surroundings - Boutique- Great Cocktails

We really enjoyed our meal at Cookes restaurant .It was our anniversary and we tried a few different dishes and shared them so that we both had the opportunity to try the dishes . The dishes were beautifully plated. I do think that the service could be improved , our first drink so long that we ordered the next straight away and it wasn't busy . We had to call over the lady that was serving us a few times to get what we needed - i am not sure if the lack of attention was because we were using and early dinning offer ? We would try them again

We selected Cooke’s for our last evening meal on our four week long tour of Australia and New Zealand and it was an excellent choice. The restaurant was very clean and had a good ambience. There was a very wide selection of food and drinks on the menu. The food was very good and portion size was good too. We had the duck parfait starter (which amazingly looked just like ice cream) and the lamb shank which was well cooked and just fell off the bone. The desert was a mango sorbet pavlova. The service was very good; the staff were very polite, helpful and attentive.

WOW!

WOW! We had dinner her and it was beautifully cooked that was well presented and quick to our table. The waiters and chefs were very lovely and attentive. I highly recommend stopping here for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. We also had breakfast here the following day and just like dinner it was prepared magnificently. I’ll be telling all my friends and family to come here.

Friendly and attentive

We ate dinner at Cookes over the weekend and was instantly impressed by the the service from the team. As soon as we walked in we was greeted by Simon and taken to our reserved table and was explained then menu, our main server for the evening was Egils and he was great explained and gave options on the cocktails on offer. We went for the restaurant month Menu and wow the chefs are brilliant best menu I've had during restaurant month period. Overall brilliant food excellent service would recommend and will be back.

Delicious Food

We came for the reopening for the restaurant, Our server was a young Russian girl. Polite and welcoming professional but made us comfortable and relaxed. We followed her recommdations of the Short Rib and was no disappointed. The food was served hot and exceptionally plated and great tasting. We never got to try the restaurant month menu but will be back to return. The Man wearing a suit was going around the tables speaking with the guests what i find was really different compared to other restaurants i have been too. When he spoke with us he made the experience about us. what we valued. Towards the end of the meal. We noticed him making a cocktail at a table to a couple whom seemed to be laughing and enjoying it. The overall experience from everything was fantastic from decor to the food and service it was great to see staff happy to actually be working. We are glad we came along and will certainly return very soon.

Exceptional Service

The service I received was fantastic. I was running late for a meeting but wanted breakfast. I asked Kim my waitress to tell the chef that I was in a rush so she offered to bring it to my room so I could finish getting ready. I was grateful for that and tbh was expecting to see a delivery charge but there wasn’t one. She went beyond the call of duty and for that reason will stay here on my next business trip. In fact all of the staff I dealt with were great but she really did make a difference to my day!

excellent service and romatic place

The service there was excellent and Trish is considerate to give us complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Food there was limited due to Level 2.5 but the lamb shank was great. I'm not a meat lover but it was amazing for the lamb shank comes with potato smash. The vanilla pudding was delicious but the chocloate musse was a little too sweet for me.

Delicious food, great service

I enjoyed a late lunch of lamb sliders with Salsa Verde off the tapas menu one day during my stay at the Grand Windsor Hotel where Cooke's is located. Another day I enjoyed a delicious dinner of grilled local fish with a cocktail called Amethyst which was amazing. Both the cocktail and wine lists were fairly extensive and the food was delicious. The wait staff was super nice and helpful, especially one young man from England and a young woman from Croatia. Overall, my meals were lovely and I would definitely eat here again.

Comfort food ordered

Staying two nights for our anniversary and we decided to order room service for one of the nights. Ordered chicken and camabert pie and mash....hhhmmm for $19 I wasn’t impressed. The pie looked like one from the service station and literally just mashed potatoes - it was dull, boring and not that tasty. Very disappointed.
