This restaurant is very special. The food is amazing, the service is amazing. They have a very nice selection of wines (check out the Amisfield if you're into Sauvignon Blanc). If you are lucky you may even find a live band playing as it happened to me a couple of times. For a nice occasion you cannot go wrong with... More

I booked DeBretts high tea for a large group and the entire experience was delightful. Booking was easy via email, the kitchen were flexible for different dietary requirements, the interior was perfect and the service was attentive but not overbearing. The sweets and scones were especially tasty. Highly recommended.

I quite often go here for lunch if I'm shopping in town, and we've also been a few times for dinner. Nice place, good decor, tables well spread out so not overcrowded. Service is always good. The menu is quite small and changes fairly often to make use of seasonal ingredients (other restaurants should take note!) The lunch menu is... More

Had valentines dinner two years ago. Awesome service, very attentive but not too much. Waitresses there were very professional 5/5. Food wise, 3 out of 5, maybe it was due to those valentine set menu, not always the best time to try out. We went for their environment and atmosphere 5/5.

Came here for the 3 course menu as part of the Auckland Restaurant Month. We were not disappointed. The service was good. We were seated at the end of the restaurant where the kitchen / serving area was so ambience for us was not great. I had the pork rillette and it was one of the best entree I've had.... More

We stayed at The DeBrett for two nights and had read the reviews on the restaurant so we decided to have dinner here. We were NOT disappointed! We opted for the special chef's three course dinner. From start to finish it was wonderful! The service was attentive and the server was lovely and knowledgeable. My dessert was my favorite part!!!... More

Hotel restaurants often don't inspire nor stand on their own as a restaurant. Kitchen does. The food is worth searching out. The service is friendly but casual. The atmosphere lacks a little due to table placements around group tables.

I have been a regular here for years and there have been hit and miss but recently it's just more miss than hit. I like the restaurant it have always been my fav. But recently the service just went down hill. Even the foods, which used to be perfect now just dissapointing. I don't mind paying, took my family of... More

Being in my mid 20s, I don’t usually experience being looked down upon for being “too young” any more. However, this was not the case when we dined during the weekend. The girl who greeted (and I use that term very loosely) was absolutely rude (“What do you want?” when we walked in and no thank you when we left).... More

Very limited mains menu. Mains at $38 were not sufficient without ordering "sides" at $9 extra. Quality of food was very average. Can't believe this place was a finalist in a restaurant top rating last year. The live music made conversation impossible in such an intimate space.
