Small curry house which caters mainly for take away's. I sat in and had the most wonderful authentic curry with a freshly cooked nan bread which was exquisite. Proper Indian people run this little café and are very pleasant and friendly. NOT to be missed after shopping in Queen Street, Auckland.

I always get the Non-Veg Thali for $13.50 or so and it comes with three curries, naan, papadum, yogurt and mixed pickle. It's amazing you can get so much variety for so cheap. I love coming here because I can pick and choose a few favorites and it feels like I get to dance with my food. I love it... More

It's always great to taste authentic north Indian food in other countries and this one is little more amazing to be there in center of Auckland. Perfectly located inside the sky world mall near AOTEA center. A few steps from AUT. Food is amazing and staff found to be good. It serves both vegetarian and non-veg combo dishes. You can... More

If you wish to enjoy Indian Food, Jewel of Bombay is an average place. Whule the portion size is good enough ... The taske is average. The flavour of Indian spices is somewhat missing. Don't keep your expectations high if you are trying Indian Food after some gap.

This Indian fast food-type food bar has great samosa's. Some vegetarian options, but not too many vegan options that aren't loaded with onions and garlic. Everything is pre-prepared in trays so it very much limits the option if your vegan with 'grumpy tummy'! The place smells divine, so it draws you in, and I love the smells and the samosa's,... More

Had butter chicken with rice and naan here, the butter chicken was greasy and bland, the rice was greasy and soggy and the naan was rock hard. All in all, don't bother going here and go somewhere else!

Takeaway. We got a 2 vege curry on rice for $12 plus 2 samosas. There was so much rice forced into the container the guy serving could hardly put the curry topping on. We basically got rice with a tablespoon of vege curry on top. Felt totally rpped off. Nice samosas but not happy paying so much for just rice.... More

Was walking around in Auckland looking for food. Found a food court and decided to try the Indian stall named Jewel of Bombay. Ordered the chicken briyani for NZD10.90, waited 10 minutes. And when it came, I am surprised by the sheer size of the food. It is enough for 2 people. For the price, it is definitely worth it.... More

After having burnt our fingers with several expensive places which turned out to be horrible, we would this place quick & cheap -- A desi life saver in Auckland. We ended up ordering lunch and dinner carryouts for our Coramandel trip that night. The naan was really fresh & good. Cons - poor vegetarian options, really bland food (no salt... More

My family stopped by this restaurant in a hurry to drive to Rotorua in time. We took takeout, which is what I would advise, since the place does not look like a sit-down. My family is vegetarian, and Jewel of Bombay did not have very many veg options for us to have. We ordered lunch and dinner and for the... More
