Because we were staying nearby at the Langham Hotel, we made a reservation at Tanuki Sake Bar and Resto on Christmas Eve. The inside of the restaurant is very attractively decorated, and the young wait staff are very friendly and helpful. We regretted that they did not offer umeshu, Japanese plum wine. Our Scotch beef teriyaki with rice was excellent.... More

Tanukis is the best. It has a cute little basement bar vibe going on. The food is always delicious and its worth trying the monthly specials! My favorites are scotch fillet steak, shrimp and bacon and you NEED to try the cabbage and mayo!!!

This place was fantastic. The sushi menu seemed slightly limited, but the portions were absolutely plentiful - though a bit too much rich for my taste. This place has the orignal feel to it, with the dark japanese tables and the authentic decor, loved the lunch plate, quite a good meal for 15 bucks, ordered the sakeee....now thats the good stuff

I used to frequent this place years ago, so I returned. Certainly not as good as it used to be. But, still safe bet for authentic Japanese.

A very authentic japanese experience. The food was tasty and good value . Service was excellent and the wine selection was great. Perfect for before heading to Q theatre which is close by. Be sure to book as it seemed very full and busy

We dropped in here for a quick dinner before going to the Comedy Club right next door. The service was efficient and friendly, the ambience excellent (it was a Saturday night after all!) and the food most excellent indeed.
