We discovered this restaurant after having arrived late in the evening into Auckland. We loved all the various dishes we tried, the okonomayaki, yakitori, sashimi, amongst others. It was excellent value with pleasant service.

Had a melody of skewers at Ken Yakitori. The Grilled Mussels and Salmon Capriccio was really nice but the soft shell crabs lacked enough sauce to make it stand out. The other skewers of chic liver, chic kidney, chicken cartilage, beef tongue and scallops were good but there was a lack of sauce which wasn't the case when we came... More

I don't really enjoy eating alone when on business trips, but in here I just felt like I was a part of everything that was going on inside. The food, which was being cooked directly in front of me, at the counter, was delicious! washed down with a Japanese, Kirin Beer & I was totally satisfied. Will be back!!

Been here a number of times now and always enjoyed the experience. Fast efficient and friendly service with good food. It's far from fine dining but a great little spot for a quick bite to eat and a sake or 3!

We shared some good food, but was spoilt by below average service. The maitre'd was not impressed when we hadn't finished our meals when the next group for the table arrived.

Had great food at Ken Yakitori again. The Japanese skewers were tasty and aromatic and the sake was refined and smooth. Special mention was the deep fried salt and pepper prawns and their soft shell crabs which were delicious.

I have a confession. I love yakitori- so its incredibly hard for a yakitori bar to get a bad review from me unless they really screw up. The thing keeping me from giving Ken a five-star was the level of yakitori just wasn't what I hoped it to be. Their cornflake encrusted chicken was superb, however and I recommend it... More

We stumbled on this place last week and just lived it. Very traditional ambience, food and service. Took us back to our visit to Japan early last year. Really enjoyed the food, great prices and tradition. Thank you.
