A number of the dishes were with a little touch of Asian, which made them unique, interesting and surprising. Dishes were well presented, staff were welcoming and ambiance was good. At NZ$50 for a 5-course dinner might considered to be expensive in New Zealand, but in Europe standard this is definitely amazing in value. The wine pairing option is comparatively... More

Tried Pacifica last week. The only downside was that it wasn't a bit busier and more atmospheric because the food and service was fantastic. We had the seafood tasting menu with matched wines. Particularly lovely the potato course and the rasperry soufflé. Fantastic value for money too.

This is one of the best restaurants we've been to, in the world. The chef focusses on local food and wine. The "baked potato" is a standout (warning, chef may change this once it becomes too popular, just to keep things interesting) as was the mixed berry soufflé. To be fair, every very dish hit the mark. Somehow they manage... More

Each course in this five course degustation was pretty, interesting, combined flavours that weren't ones we would use traditionally and the service was really friendly and informative. I like seeing the kitchen whilst eating as its a bit like a performance and the chef seemed to be enjoying himself with his tam and front of house staff - that too... More

You have to try the degustation - Wow; What flavour ... sensational ..... and the wine .... very special. However they could spend a little effort of the décor and promptness of service.

Oh dear, we were with 4 others or we would have walked out at the start. The tasting menu was overpriced, pretentious, (e.g. squid mince, mussel sago) and bizarre. What is the chef thinking of? The combinations of flavours in the minuscule dishes didn't work. The soy/foam amuse bouche was like a drinking a cup of vegemite. The sous-vide egg... More

The food is a set menu - so don't go thinking you will be able to chose. The chief is world known, and has two menus that he works with. 5 courses, with a burst of flavour in each meal - he has married flavours that are divine, and set them with a glass of wine to match each course...... More

This would be a Michelin star restaurant anywhere else in the world. This has to be one of the best restaurants/chefs in New Zealand. Taster menu of 5 courses. Wish I could go regularly!,,,

The menu choice of only two five course meal options was very limiting. The complimentary soy drink with froth to me was unpalatable.I choose the seafood option which each course was a contradiction of ingredients - thankfully they are only 2 mouthful size servings! You will not at all feel like you have eaten a meal. The people I dined... More

This is a truly lovely experience, if that's what you are looking for. I was looking for a place to satisfy my want of a big seafood buffet kind of meal and I was sent here. This was not what I was looking for at all and depending on company I would of chosen to leave. But I tried everything... More
